Mar. 8th, 2021 02:54 pmToday I was being productive in terms of online stuff. I'd started my h/c exchange sign up and even added words to my Musketeers in space story, and then my MiL phoned and totally threw me out of that productive headspace. I'm glad she did phone as it was good news, saying she's off oxygen and as long as the physio says okay, she can come home in the next few days, but after 30 mins of chatting any fic words had fluttered away. Oh well, they'll come back and Aramis and Porthos can resume their conversation about tentacles.
So, because the words had gone I went and cleaned and sorted out the tin cupboard. Well, the tin and alcohol cupboard. There are some dubious things in there, the only time we really drink alcohol is when we're on holiday, but people keep giving it to us. So one part of the cupboard is bottles, and there's also such delights as tinned haggis, and for some reason multiple tins of rice pudding.
I read a very lovely Downton story last night. I the rec when reading my network and am glad I checked it out as the story is about Thomas and cats, so was always going to be a win. Lady Mary's Christmas Present.

Date: 2021-03-08 05:33 pm (UTC)James gets given alcohol more than me, I suspect it's an easy gift for things like birthdays, Christmas etc, but then it just sits there. They need to switch to chocolate or something.

Date: 2021-03-09 07:06 am (UTC)I have never had any kind of haggis, but I must admit I would not like to start with something that came out of a can.

Date: 2021-03-09 08:05 am (UTC)I've had veggie haggis but really don't like the idea of the real stuff. James loves it though, so I'm blaming him for the tinned version as I really don't know where it came from.

Date: 2021-03-09 08:09 pm (UTC)I'm glad people don't give me alcohol - I would end up with a cupboard just like yours if they did! You clearly need to hint harder that people should give you edibles instead of drinkables in the future. Unless they're likely to give you more tinned haggis, of course ;-D

I suspect alcohol is an easy gift, especially for James. But you're right, edibles would make more sense. As for the tinned haggis, I suspect it'll be left in the cupboard for a very long time!
