Mar. 15th, 2021 02:14 pmIt was mother's day yesterday. I was missing mam lots and couldn't see Corey. Mother's Day last year was when Covid restrictions were just kicking in and I couldn't see him then either, so it was a reminder of just how long this has lasted now. So yesterday wasn't the best, but, I did get to talk to Corey for an hour, which was impressive, especially as neither of us had anything new to share. Well, there was one thing, Corey has been told he'll be back in training for work anytime after the 29th of this month so the pubs are starting to work towards reopening.
Other than that we took my MiL and FiL a takeaway Sunday dinner, plus flowers and a card for my MiL. The dinner was delicious, from what looked like a dingy and small place from outside, but the food was great.
My MiL got out of the hospital last week and seems a lot better physically, though her and my FiL are rubbing each other up the wrong way often. Not that that's surprising as they've pretty much stayed in the same room together for over a year now, only my FiL going out for at the most half an hour a couple of times a week to pick up some groceries.
Our family friend was also allowed to come home at the end of the last week. Covid affected him badly and he's lost four stone, so now needs to rebuild his muscles.
I've just officially signed for the h/c exchange. I knew I'd leave it to the last minute, especially as I'd lost confidence in actually writing words. But, the form is filled in and submitted. Looking at the other requests I suspect I know who I'll be matched to but I'll see in the next few days I guess. At which point I'll inevitably be saying, what the hell have I done?

Date: 2021-03-16 10:04 am (UTC)Corey is itching to get back to work. I doubt he'll be back in his actual job in the nightclub any time soon, but getting outside drinking sorted and then serving, yeah.

Date: 2021-03-16 10:02 am (UTC)I signed. I was unmatched. I've sent in an email with more offers but if I'm still unmatched I'm seeing it as a sign it wasn't meant to be.

Date: 2021-03-20 09:22 pm (UTC)It's good to hear your MiL is doing better, and the friend too. Being home is always better than being in the hospital.

Date: 2021-04-01 03:31 pm (UTC)Oh for sure. I'd hate to be in hospital at the moment. Especially with no visitors allowed.
