I was tidying upstairs yesterday and saw cat puke in Corey's bedroom. But, when I looked closer it wasn't actually cat puke at all, but the back half of a chewed mouse D:

Pansy has been downstairs a lot more often than usual lately and spent a lot of time watching the fridge. So, despite no other signs I'm assuming a mouse got in somehow and she's been hunting it down over a few days. Of course, I can't be sure it's Pansy but Milo is so old and stiff I doubt he could ever catch a mouse and Murphy is so clumsy he'd only catch one by falling on it. Plus, Pansy has form, as she's the only cat we've owned to catch a mouse. So yes, a chewed up mouse, not what I wanted to deal with and I really hope that was the only one.

Today I've been for my B12 injection and man, I needed it. I can always tell when it's coming to the end of the three months as my get up and go is almost zero. It didn't help I'd ran out of iron tablets either so that was a double blow right there. But, I picked up my meds while I was down there and should be topped up nicely soon.

It was a nice walk down to the doctors, warm and sunny and I spent about ten minutes sitting on a bench on the way home just people watching and enjoying the sunshine. Not that much was happening, it was just nice to have a change of scenery for a while.

James had his pain management appointment last night and it was pretty much useless. First, the doctor phoned three hours early, which was fine yesterday as James had an annual leave day booked, but normally he would have still been at work that time. Then, the doctor couldn't really help apart from suggesting the use of a TENS machine. I think we'll look into borrowing one for a while if possible as it's pointless buying a machine if it won't help.

I was not impressed in the slightest. I'm just glad the head was gone, that would have been an extra level of wrong if that end had remained.

Finding half a mouse, or indeed a head the size of a grape, is dismaying. Pesky cats!

If it helps -- it could be much, much worse. I once woke up, walked out into the living room to be confronted by the front half of a large rabbit, with blood and guts spread on the carpet. It was too big for the cat to catch (I think); I assumed she found it and carried it in to eat without other animals hassling her.

I was glad it was Sunday, so I could clean it up (ugh!) without being late for work.

Next to that, the time the dog carried home a dried cow pattie and proudly displayed it on the couch was nothing at all.

(Pets are such fun, right? <g>)

Oh man, your rabbit story!

At least I could pick up the chewed mouse up with the aid of some toilet roll and a quick clean of the carpet. It would have taken you so much longer.

Pansy the mighty hunter!! But yes, so definitely not the kind of thing you want to find in your house! I'll keep my fingers crossed it was the one and only mouse to get in!

I hope you've regained your get-up-and-go by now.

Pansy is a fantastic hunter, at least, she has been the two times a mouse got in the house. Who knows, she may have kept others out.

My get up and go is back, mostly anyway.

Sadly all our warm and sunny weather has gone. It's been in the minus temp wise at nights for nearly a week with a ground frost on waking. It's like we've gone back to winter.

We've had such miserable weather the whole week here! I'm hoping for some sun soon, we all desperately need something other than grey and rainy.

The meds do work, it's scary how much difference there is when they start to wear off.

It's been so cold here lately, like we're back to winter. I wish we all had some nice sunny weather.

And in a different way, I'm sorry there wasn't anything better for James from the appointment. I hope you can find a machine to borrow to try it out.

Sitting on a bench in the sun sounds very nice, though.

The half a mouse wasn't fun to find. I'm glad I didn't know it was in the house before though.

James is still thinking if he should try a machine. I think he was a bit discouraged by the appointment. He did get a follow-up appointment recently and I really hope it's face to face so he can have a proper talk.
