Apr. 1st, 2021 12:34 pmThe weather has been gorgeous the last two days, it was around 19 to 20 degrees for both, so I spent time cleaning out the greenhouse and getting the garden looking a bit better on Tuesday, and then yesterday we went for a walk at the beach before spending a few lazy hours in Kayleigh's back garden, chilling with her and her cats.
Of course, today the temperature has plummeted to 8 and snow is forecast for Monday. Which is why I'm still holding out on planting seeds in the greenhouse because as soon as I do there's bound to be a ground frost.
While at Kayleigh's she told me they're rebooked her wedding for the second week in June, and surely it has to be third time lucky this time. Because Lucy will be so heavily pregnant by then they're going even more informal than before. Lucy wearing a harem pantsuit and Kayleigh in something really casual too. So, the fascinator I bought won't really work which is a shame. I think the dress will still be okay though. I wear dresses anyway and it's not too dressy smart so I'm thinking maybe a headband with small blue flowers won't be too much. And thankfully I should be able to get my lashes dyed again before then so you can see them again.
It's all go on the green grant front. We got a phone call saying they had a cancellation so could fit the solar heater this week. So, tomorrow scaffolding is going up, Monday the panels will be put up and Tuesday they'll be fitting the actual heater inside. Of course, James is back at work on Tuesday after his Easter break so I'll be cat wrangling that day alone, which isn't ideal. I'm actually surprised they're coming tomorrow and Monday with it being Easter and will still be half expecting them to phone and say they're not actually coming until I actually see the scaffolding go up.

Date: 2021-04-02 07:55 am (UTC)Fingers crossed the wedding will happen this time. Mainly they need it done for legal baby reasons so Kayleigh is classed as a full parent too.

Date: 2021-04-02 04:27 pm (UTC)I remember for my wedding I'd made all these plans for photos on the beach, and thought it would be okay with it being June. But it was so windy we'd have been pebble-dashed by sand if we'd gone past the prom *g*
If I could I'd magic you over the ocean so we could walk the beach together. I'd even buy you an icecream cornet if you like :)

Date: 2021-04-03 05:47 pm (UTC)I don't wear dresses, but the description you gave sounds pretty.
I have this dream of owning an RV that I might possibly live in (I have a tiny house obsession) and I want solar panels. Good luck with the install.

Date: 2021-04-04 07:41 pm (UTC)I'm keeping everything crossed they'll be able to have their wedding in June!! It's a shame you won't be able to wear the fascinator but the headband sounds like a lovely idea. (You'll just have to bring it to Camp and wear it to impress us all :-)
Lots of good luck with the solar heater installation!

Date: 2021-04-05 07:44 am (UTC)I'm itching to get stuff in the greenhouse but know it's too soon now. Maybe a few weeks and the temps will settle.
That's a great idea about taking the fascinator to Camp. It'll make a change from wearing a plastic tiara there anyway *g*
As of now I can't see why the wedding won't take place, but still, my fingers remain crossed.
I'm sitting waiting for the people to do stage two of the heater installation which is putting up the panels on the roof. I'm assuming they'll be able to do so despite the snow, at least, no one has cancelled yet.

Date: 2021-04-05 12:59 pm (UTC)Amazingly they turned up on Good Friday to do the scaffolding, and the men are here on bank holiday Monday putting up the panels. I still can't believe it, they must have been bribed with loads of money.

Date: 2021-04-05 01:02 pm (UTC)I bought my dress last year for the first time they booked the wedding. Then my sister got covid and then I got it too. The second wedding booked and Lucy got covid. So, third time lucky and I hope the dress still fits!
Oh, an RV with solar panels so it's self-supporting, would be amazing. That's an excellent dream.
