I thought I'd share a photo of the tank

A day later I'm getting used to it, sort of, it's still huge and I can well see why the silver part is better in the attic if possible. But, it does work well, I had plenty of hot water for my bath last night, and I remain tickled the sun is heating my water like magic!

I've managed to get the desk between the tank and the bed, just, it literally squeezes in with no room to spare. That'll be fine for now but if James ever does get to do home working we'll have to rearrange furniture because I don't think anyone would be happy sitting that close to a warm tank. I think we will box it in eventually, probably have some storage over the top, but that's a job for another day.

Some of you will recognise the lovely pink walls and clashing red carpet from staying at mine. As the last time anyone did that was a while ago it shows that the spare bedroom badly needs redecorating. I should go silver really, run with the industrial theme *g*

I found out today the overseer is coming here on Friday to discuss the next stage which is a new energy efficient boiler -- which is thankfully a straight swap for the old one we have now -- and the underfloor insulation. I guess with the green grant finishing they're having to get all the jobs done asap, but that's another disruption I don't have to think about yet.

I consider that turning the big silver cylinder into a room robot, with a white cylindrical angel on its shoulder, would be a kindness to us all!

seconded! add some big googly eyes and maybe a Dalek arm (you can probably find a plunger, no problem) and it'd be perfect

That is quite an imposing presence indeed! And I see what you mean about not wanting to sit right next to it for too long. But the silver is quite nice, as these things go - could be many uglier colors.

I hope the boiler installation goes smoothly. Will they have to pull up all your floors to do the insulation?

Been catching up with posts and just dropping to line to say I've enjoyed reading your news, and the seeing the cat pictures. Glad your various family members and friends are doing well. And yay for getting the solar panels sorted. I was going to suggest covering the tank with fandom stickers but having seen it, maybe boxing it off onto a side table of sorts (with a big green plant on top that trails?) would be the best...

ALSO: I have not forgotten about the icons. And am, in fact, opening the Fireworks right now...

Playing with graphics is actually kind of relaxing. I assume that you wanted several, slightly differently layered and coloured versions of Aramis' face. And, well, even if you didn't, that's what you're getting so :D

If it had only been the silver tank I don't think it would have looked too bad. It's the white thingy on top that makes it look like an eyesore to me.

There's nothing wrong with combining pink and red!! :-D

Actually, it looks a bit smaller than I was imagining, so maybe not too bad? At least you seem to still have a nice bit of "room" leftover. I was thinking some honking horizontal tank for some reason.
