Happy birthday to my oldest -- in terms of knowing her online -- friend,
castalie I hope your day has been fabulous ♥
And of course, if it's Mouse's birthday it means it's also the birthday of my middle niece. Though she'll never see this, thank goodness!
Thank you
misbegotten for the postcard, it really made me laugh when it arrived. Between you and various other people, my fridge is looking very well decorated.
James is off for four days, in on Tuesday, then due to where his rostered days off hit is off for nearly three weeks for annual leave. I'd like to say we were going on holiday in that time but of course, we can't, and wouldn't want to, so right now our plans are to decorate the house. Kayleigh has just bought a new bigger bed so we're getting her old one for the spare bedroom. The bed we have in there is an old divan which is well past its best. So, plan is to get rid of that and have a pretty empty room, paint, then get the new to us bed when Kayleigh and Lucy get their new one.
Though hopefully, other things will happen in those three weeks. Like day trips to York and Whitby and I'm sure we'll end up at Mog on the Tyne at some point.
Today I've been working in the garden a little. The stuff in the greenhouse is growing like crazy, with some of the tomato plants already flowering. So I repotted a lot of seedlings and weeded and gave the decking a bit of a wash. I've a good feeling about the tomatoes this year, though really, they couldn't be worse than the solitary one I managed to grow last year -- stupid blight.

Date: 2021-05-28 07:46 am (UTC)Thank you! As I just said to Kimberly, sometimes I think it would be easier to just buy the things, but I do enjoy messing in the greenhouse.

Date: 2021-05-28 07:44 am (UTC)Three weeks really is great, for all the problems it has the NHS has a very decent holiday policy, especially so as James has worked for them so long. Hopefully, we'll get a decent mix of being productive in the house, day trips, local trips and just lazing around.
Thank you. Sometimes I think it would be much easier to get rid of the greenhouse and just buy tomatoes. It would be cheaper too. But, I do enjoy my pottering in there.

Date: 2021-05-29 08:02 pm (UTC)So good to hear your plants are growing. I hope you'll get lots of tomatoes this year! It's been so cold here mine have pretty much not grown anything at all since they were acclimatised for the outdoors.
