It was our wedding anniversary yesterday. 5 years already, it's hard to believe.
James was at work all day so we didn't go out or do anything, but Kayleigh turned up with a surprise frappe for me, then after visiting for a while went to see her friend who lives next door. And oh my goodness, they've been getting a new French Bulldog puppy and Kayleigh phoned and told me to come over and hang with them so I got well over an hour of puppy time. I mean,

I would have stayed longer but I was in the middle of gardening when Kayleigh arrived and had stuff everywhere outside. I knew if I left it too late I'd never get it done, so I reluctantly left mid-afternoon and finished what I was doing. And in the process got myself an impressive sunburn. My own fault, I always try to do prolonged gardening stuff in the mornings as that's when the garden is in shade, by the afternoon it gets full sun, and I spent far too much time out in it without enough sunscreen.
Today James started his annual leave, and we spent that first day doing another tip run for my SiL. She got a warning from the housing association for all the rubbish in the garden so we've been taking it to the tip for them. I think this was the third run and there's still loads to go. It's not a problem helping but they use wheelie bin bags for the stuff that's getting thrown away and sometimes seem to forget I actually have to heave those bags up and into the skips at the tip.
Though I get a rest tomorrow as James needs to be at the garage first thing to get the car checked, and as he has to go alone and would be in the area said he'd go to my In-laws after and one of them could load the car and go with him to do the dumping duty.
I intend to do The June Thing, and you can see the questions here.
Day 1: What's changed about your fandom life in the last 365 days?
Honestly, very little. I still haven't found that new fandom that would sweep me off my feet and am still hanging out in the same places I have for years. Reading Winterhawk, Musketeers, oh, I did binge-watch all of Downton Abbey so read fic for that now. I still read and enjoy bandom stuff though haven't written any for a long time. I did branch out and write for Leverage, and have made a couple of new fantastic flist friends, but as far as changes go, that's it.
I'm comfortable where I am and have some brilliant friends, and from reading about the negativity I see elsewhere, am quite content to not branch out into other spaces.
Day 2: You've got your OTP, you have to throw a third into the mix (from the same fandom), creating an OT3. Who is the OTP, and in your opinion, why would they make a perfect third for them? Bonus question: What about adding a third to your OTP from a different fandom? Who and why?
Well, it's hard to answer this as I've always been an OPC person and not OTP. But going from my main fandoms and past main fandoms it was Chris Kirkpatrick from Nsync, Mikey Way from MCR, Aramis from The Musketeers, Clint Barton from MCU and going way back, Tom Paris from Voyager, Blair Sandburg from The Sentinel and Brennan Mulwray from Mutant X.
And now I've given that list I can say that having an OTC means I'll happily read any pairing, threesome, foursome, moresome for that character so adding a third isn't really an issue. Really, the only one I need to think about is Clint as I tend to only read him with Bucky. So who should I add for a threesome? You know, I'm going to go for Natasha, that would work and I'd happily read them in curtain fic, including Lucky of course, and hot as all hell pegging fic. That would be nice.
As for a different fandom. Maybe Aramis could be thrown forward in time somehow and end up in Bed Stuy and be sniffed out by Lucky who barks until Clint comes over to investigate this hot leather-wearing stranger who's for some reason hiding out in the bushes and threatening to skewer people with his sword. They'd talk, Clint would encourage Aramis to come home with him and eventually he'd introduce him to the delights of coffee, pizza and Bucky.

Date: 2021-06-03 09:43 am (UTC)Mabel is so cute! Her head is wider than her body right now so when she was happy, all you could see was her mouth wide open like she had an emoji grin :D
It would be an interesting crossover *g*

Date: 2021-06-03 09:38 am (UTC)The puppy is so great. I love cats and my cats, but have to admit, the love you get from a dog, even if you've just met them, is great.
I keep waiting for that new big thing. I mean, I still have fandoms I love and keep reading new stuff, but nothing that's grabbed me totally.

I did! And very much enjoyed the story. It was only recently I read it and I was amazed just how well the pairing worked. I liked that Thomas was so very Thomas despite being thrust into a totally different world.
Though, that writer has spoiled me in terms of DA fic, as anything else I read now doesn't seem as good.

Date: 2021-06-03 01:27 am (UTC)And my goodness, that is an adorable puppy face indeed. Sorry to hear about the sunburn, hope it fades soon.
Clint/Bucky/Natasha seems like a very intense relationship, but they could really support each other also.

Clint/Bucky/Natasha would be intense for sure. So many powerful personalities in one place would make for interesting times.
Looking at your icon, I also approve of JC/Chris/Justin.

Date: 2021-06-03 12:07 pm (UTC)It's good of you and James to help your SiL out, but yeah. I tend to have heavy garbage for various reasons and sometimes use the big garbage bags and flinging them into the dumpster is a challenge.

The big bags are fantastic in one way because you can really stuff them full. Which is great until you're trying to heave the things into the skip. So yes, I feel you.

Date: 2021-06-04 05:48 pm (UTC)What an adorable puppy! I can see why you didn't get around to doing your gardening chores until late afternoon. I hope your sunburn wasn't too painful.
We often have completely opposite opinions about fannish stuff but when it comes to OTC versus OTP we're in complete agreement!

Yep! OTC is the way to go. It gives so many more options.
