fandomgiftbox has gone up and you can see it Here. I've asked for fic in Musketeers, MCU, Bandom, Popslash, The Umbrella Academy, Mag 7 and Leverage. Looking at all the boxes my wants are short compared to some others, but I do pretty much read anything. Obviously, I have my favourite tropes but mostly I'm happy with anything as long as it contains my OTC, especially if someone is gifting me a work.
I'm going to check out other boxes later and see what I can contribute, but before that need to hit the surveys hard for a while. I always aim for £100 a month to put toward the vets bill, but am down on that this month due to being out and about the first part of June. Not that I regret doing so, but I need to try and catch up.
It was James' non-weekend rosta'ed day off yesterday so we had a day out.
We finally got to go to Mog on the Tyne and it was so lovely to be back. I do go to other cat cafes but Mog will always be special. It's the one I went to first, I've taken friends there, and most of all it's got such a lovely vibe with staff members that always remember us.
Right now they only have two of the original cats from when we first went, the others have all retired -- and very sadly one had to be pts after getting ill -- and are living their best lives as house cats now. But while cats have moved on, they've brought more rescue cats in and they're delightful, full of energy and interacting with the cafe visitors, even though you still have to stay at your table for now.
They have a lot of ginger youngsters so I spent a lot of time working out who was who. You can see some photos on my Insta here and yes, I was thrilled when the Mog account commented on the post :D
After leaving there we drove to Metrocentre which is the big shopping mall in the area to get lunch and go to the cinema. We went to see Supernova which while beautifully filmed was so understated that it didn't really work for me. It's focussed on early-onset dementia, I know that's a sore spot for some so please don't check out the link if so.
While there we caught up on one of our casual friends who now works in the Costa part of the cinema. We first met her when we went to the gallery all the time. If you have a gallery ticket you get unlimited popcorn, nachos and pop, as well as Roses chocolates and seating is a couch not chairs. As this was pre bypass we got tickets for there as I couldn't comfortably fit in a seat, and yeah, I get the madness of going to somewhere with unlimited cinema food because of that reason.
The gallery is shut now so she's become a barista and it was lovely to have a quick natter and find out how other people we knew casually are doing.

Date: 2021-06-30 12:23 pm (UTC)Those kitties all look so cute! It makes me wanna go to the Birmingham cat cafe whenever I go next.
Oh wow unlimited food sounds like a pretty sweet bonus, though I’m not one to eat too much at cinemas

Date: 2021-06-30 01:32 pm (UTC)You should check out the cat cafe! They are fun places. At least, I think so.
It was a sweet bonus, and some people really went for it in terms of eating many many servings of nachos and popcorn. Especially popcorn as all you had to do was pick it out of the warmer cabinet yourself.

Date: 2021-07-04 06:58 am (UTC)There was a cat there called Pumpkin and he really stole my heart due to his face. It just had so much character.
It was a lovely day out and it was good to get back.

Date: 2021-07-04 07:00 am (UTC)I did enjoy the Mog visit. The previous cats were a miss but I like that they're retired as soon as it looks like they need fewer people around them.
Could you see the photos on Insta okay? Over on LJ someone said they'd been prompted to log in to see which I thought wouldn't be an issue as I have an open account.
