It's my MiL's birthday today. She asked to go to Seahouses, a small beach town an hour or so up the coast for her present, so, as it was James' weekday day off yesterday, that's what we did.

It was a lovely day, sunny but not too hot and we went out to eat in a fish and chip restaurant and sat in the sun and went on an adventure where we drove to see a sculpture in the sea, turned the wrong way, got lost before eventually finding the sculpture which was incredibly underwhelming. this is what you can see using a professional camera.





I'd share more photos but I was designated wheelchair pusher so had no free hands to take more than a handful of bad photos, which was a shame.

Though something went wrong with my Fitbit as when I got home it said I'd climbed 109 flights of stairs, and nope, hadn't done that. So now I have a fraudulently acquired congratulations badge on my account saying I'm an expert lighthouse climber.

Then today I was ready for a quiet day when James was sent home from work. Thankfully for what looks like a stomach bug but still, I've got far too much experience of him having serious AMC flairs, kidney stones etc to feel truly relaxed when he's sent home. Plus, he's frustrated as it was over seven months since he was last off ill.

Though, he better sort himself out as we've got Black Widow tickets for tomorrow. No, just kidding, they can be easily moved if needed, but hopefully not.

Of the good, the Leverage episodes are available early and I'm in the process of downloading them so will be able to watch soon. New Leverage at my fingertips, awesome! The first ep of the Gossip Girl reboot is also available, and man, I loved the original show so much and can still remember my shock when the identity of Gossip Girl was revealed. I really have enough to watch, but you know I'm downloading and watching asap.

I'm glad you had a nice outing, but yeah, the view of that sculpture is pretty underwhelming compared to the close-up photo.

I do things like that all the time with my tracker (minus the congratulations badge, lol). I wear it on the inside of my wrist and hit it all the time so I'll suddenly notice I'm in the middle a walk or run (haha, never), rather than merely tracking my steps.

I hope James is feeling better and you get to see the movie! Let me know what you think of it, please!

the pro photo makes that sculpture look interesting; too bad it isn't exactly clearly visible in 'normal' people pictures

Murphy is a ham, he also veers between being crazy and being a lazy bones. Which I guess is typical cat.

The pro picture of the sculpture is great, and I was expecting to be able to see it much easier. I hope it's easier to see if you can walk on the beach, but that wasn't an option the other day.

I'd have legs of steel if I climbed all those stairs! Now I'll feel like a fraud each time I see my lighthouse climbing badge *g*

I couldn't believe it when we finally found the sculpture and I saw how far out at sea it was. I was thinking it would be much closer to the shore.

The trackers are great, most of the time, but sometimes they do miscount. I've had the run thing too, and yeah, that's even more unlikely than the stairs *g*

James is much better now. His disability means he finds it hard to use the toilets at his work so they tend to go for caution and send him home if he has a bug.

As for Black Widow, I loved it! More spoilers in my latest post, but it was very much worth the wait.

That sounds like a very nice celebration, though I see what you mean about the sculpture. That's not, shall we say, the most inspiring work of art I've ever seen.

Poor James! I hope he feels/felt better soon.

Nanna always said she wanted to go see that sculpture but never managed to do so. It's probably just as well as I doubt she'd have been able to see more than a blur in the distance.

James is fully better now. He felt better by Friday afternoon but his work/he couldn't take the chance.

Murphy is such a grown-up cat now. Well mostly, he can still be an idiot at times, and has a thing about eating flies atm.

How silly of them to put the sculpture so far out you had to have specialist equipment to see it properly! Apart from that is sounds like it was a very enjoyable outing.

My knees aches just thinking of all those flights of steps! I'm glad it was just the Fitbit having a bit of fit and not you having had to actually climb them.

Poor James! It must be a relief it wasn't anything more serious, though stomach bugs are plenty icky on their own.

Awww, Murphy's so sad the sun is almost gone from his blanket :-)

It was an enjoyable outing, we got lucky with the weather so it was nice to just wander the town a little. But as for the sculpture. I really don't know what they were thinking putting it that far out.

I would have had to be carried up most of the stairs if there had been 109 flights, which wouldn't have been good for anyone! *g*

Yeah, James is fine now, thank goodness. Though he's still frustrated he had to take the day.
