I need to reply to comments/emails -- you are all amazing, seriously, but wanted to share a brief Milo progress report and picture where no one had to see if they don't want to.

Milo's doing well. James has slept downstairs with him the last two nights, and we've ordered a buster collar as he's not getting on with his plastic cone of shame.

He can hop from his bed or cage to the uncovered litter tray, which we've set up on puppy pads in the living room, and is eating and drinking well. We did have puppy pads in the litter tray but he wouldn't entertain them, so now he's got a thin level of litter which I have to carefully clean off his wound each time he pees as it sticks due to Milo not being steady enough to stand as he pees.

But considering it's only been two days, he's doing well and being celebrated for each tiny step forward.

I've got all his stuff set up in one area of the living room, cage, comfy bed, litter tray etc. Also a jug of water and cloths to wash and dry his wound. Milo has just managed to hop into the jug and spill water everywhere. So he's getting some height to those hops.

oh terri. i'm so sorry that he had to have surgery, but i'm glad milo continues to enjoy life nevertheless. so much stress for you! ooof. ::hugs::

I think he will enjoy life, I mean, he's eating fine right now and enjoying being petted and lying in his bed. Plus, his balance is getting better all the time so I suspect he'll soon be running around the house again. Even if it is a bit slower than before.

Milo's getting better at balancing, and decided he wanted to use the big litter trays in the hallway today and not the one I'd got set up in the living room.

Of course he exhausted himself so has been sleeping since then.

Aww, Milo! The most surprising thing to me is that Milo is a cat, lol! I . . . don't know why I thought Milo was a dog. o_O I'm glad Milo the Cat is doing so well!

Ha, yeah, that would have been a surprise to see the photo if you thought he was a dog *g*

But yeah, I have three cats. Sadly no dogs for a long time.

Look at him, such a handsome gentleman! (though I feel I ought to look discreetly away from his lack of pants.) I'm glad he's starting to be able to get around, and hope he will keep healing and regaining strength. ♥

He does look wrong shaved like that. I've been keeping in touch with the ladies who looked after him at Simply Cats and they said it looks like he's wearing a furry waistcoat *g*

He's getting some strength back, which is great, but also means he's back in the cone of shame as he was worrying at his wound.

I'm so relieved to hear Milo is doing well and I'm sure you are too! I'm sending him ALL the healthy thoughts and wishes for a speedy convalescence! And lots of hugs and good thoughts to you and James!

Milo is doing so much better than I expected. We've given him the run of downstairs now, blocking off the stairs as no way can he try those yet. And he's hopping around every now and then, and having lots of rest in between.

Just been catching up with your last few weeks and wow, the world really has thrown things at you. I'm glad to hear the funerals went as well as these things can go, and I'm super happy about Milo doing so well. What an emotional roller coaster all around. Much love to all.

Yeah, these last few weeks haven't been the best. But, they're over now and Milo is doing better. So I'm going to concentrate on that.

You must be so glad to have him home, and it sounds like his personality's come through unscathed!

(Did I ever tell you that the cat I grew up with, Tibs, lost a back leg to a hit-and-run, so was a tri-puss for most of the time we had him? Once he'd healed up, and practised a bit, it didn't slow him down any, and he was still a menace to the local frogs)

We're very glad he's home. Yesterday he managed to jump up on a storage chest in the living room. So his spirit is still there, even if he sleeps a lot of the time atm.

I don't think you did say that Tibs was a tri-puss. That's a fantastic story, thanks for sharing it.
