Aug. 26th, 2021 07:32 amMilo got his stitches out yesterday and was discharged from the PDSA, for now anyway, he can obviously go back if needed. They were very pleased with him, his wound has healed nicely and he was good as gold as they took out the stitches. They said he can do anything he wants now, so the barrier is down on the stairs and for the first time in weeks he can go up freely if he wants.
I did wonder about putting back the lid of the litter tray he's been using. Changed all the litter and decided to leave the lid off for a little while longer to aid him getting in. Only for him to hop into one of the big litter trays that did have a lid. So, guess that decision was made for me.
More good news. Some of you will remember my oldest nephew had to go to a residential school/home a couple of years ago. In a few weeks he's moving back up north and will be going to a new residential home for autistic boys that's only half an hour from my SIL. Which is fantastic for her, and my MiL who always said one of her goals in life was to see him come home.
My MiL came to spend the day with us on Tuesday, but to be honest she shouldn't have as she was clearly unwell. She thought she had a kidney infection and was uncomfortable all day but still insisted on coming out, leading to a lost day for us all really as she was either asleep or in pain. She was worse yesterday but at least she actually contacted the doctor. Not that they'd got back in touch with her last time we were talking.
Today is the funeral of one of James' school friends. Sadly, as he went to a school for the physically disabled it's not the first of his friends who have died early and won't be the last. While he wants to go he still hasn't decided if he's going to yet, I suspect it'll be a last-minute decision which is fine, today we've got nothing planned that can't wait.

Date: 2021-08-27 06:55 am (UTC)My MiL is still waiting for the doctor to get in touch. They promised it would happen today and she has had a urine dip sent away so they're not completely ignoring her. Still, I do think the doctor should have phoned as she really wasn't well.

Date: 2021-08-27 06:51 am (UTC)My nephew moving means my SiL will be able to see him when she wants. Which to be fair she could have done before, but there's a big difference of a journey of 20 mins and hours.

Best healing wishes for your MiL. I hope the doctor actually helps her! And so sorry for James's loss.

Date: 2021-08-27 06:49 am (UTC)Everyone is thrilled my nephew is coming closer. He was ready to move the day he was told, but of course, practical stuff had to be arranged first.
The doctor still hadn't phoned yesterday. My MiL was saying she'll probably be better herself by the time they do. It's really not good enough.

Date: 2021-08-29 01:50 pm (UTC)The doctor never got back to my MiL. Which I thought was ridiculous because it was obvious she needed something.

Date: 2021-08-29 01:53 pm (UTC)My nephew will be moving sooner than expected and will be back in the area next week :)
The doctor never got back in touch with my MiL. Which is stupid as she still doesn't feel well and it's a bank holiday tomorrow. James is visiting then and I've told him if she's still not feeling well he'll have to push her to get an emergency appointment at the out of hours doctors.
