I got a postcard from
misbegotten today, thank you so much. Getting fun mail is always fantastic ♥
We also got a letter saying the stairlift person would be coming out to do the annual service on the 14th between 8:30 and 1. The post arrived at 9:30 so way to go in terms of getting notice. We could have easily gone out without knowing someone was coming.
Bodhi is home, which is fantastic. She's on oral meds and a cream now and doing really well. Kayleigh was supposed to be back at work as she only got two weeks paternity leave plus some owed holidays, but they've given her some unpaid compassionate leave until the weekend, so they're all holing up together and catching up on rest and sleep.
Also, after seeing the comments on Kayleigh's FB post I realised Bodhi is going to spend her life having her name spelt incorrectly. Everyone seems to know it starts with a B and ends with an I, but the middle three letters keep getting mixed up. I have to admit, I have to take a moment to think if it's Bodhi or Bohdi even now.
Corey had his second Covid jab on Sunday, which is a relief. No side effects either apart from a sore arm.
Milo got to star on Simply Cat's social media again when they asked if they could share this post to signpost the steps to other mobility-impaired cats on their books. Of course, I said yes. I have to go pick up some special food and probiotics for him later as he still has a touch of the runs. Frustratingly it could be because we changed his food. I kept reading that grain-free was the way to go, so we bought some food that not only was more expensive than his usual stuff, but was also apparently poison as he really didn't like it. And it may have upset his stomach too. So, back to the Whiskas, he goes.
At the weekend we went for a walk at Gibside, the local National Trust property with extensive grounds. James normally hires a trapper there -- a robust mobility scooter type of thing, but one was broken down and the other already hired so we didn't do the usual long walk, but did walk to the walled gardens and had a drink at the outdoor cafe with the autumn leaves starting to drop around us.
They've opened a second-hand bookshop there since the last time I've been, and I may have bought two Christmas books. Also a bag of potatoes from the surplus stall and a huge cooking apple which will be put in a crumble along with the blackberries James keeps picking.
Last eps of the season of 911 and 911 Lonestar to watch tonight. I'll miss my shows of fabulous crack.

Date: 2021-09-14 11:16 am (UTC)I'm not really a fan of cooked fruit, so James will have the whole tray to himself. I'm sure he'll be up to the job.

Date: 2021-09-14 12:35 pm (UTC)That’s good news that she’s back home! I’m glad they’ve all getting rest
AwwMilo being a star. I hope he’ll feel better soon
That does sound nice 🖤

Date: 2021-09-14 03:38 pm (UTC)They're all getting lots of rest, which is just how it should be. Comfy at home.
Milo's got some tablets, food for sensitive stomachs and the probiotics, so he should be better soon. He's fine in himself, just something has upset his stomach.

Date: 2021-09-14 05:33 pm (UTC)I'm glad Bodhi is home and doing well.
Poor Milo. I hope he feels better soon.
Too bad you couldn't go for the longer walk you normally do, but it sounds like a nice time despite that.
Oooh, you'll be all caught up now!!!

Date: 2021-09-15 10:19 am (UTC)Bodhi is doing great -- and the best baby ever according to her mams, which is just as it should be. And Milo's stomach seems to have settled which is great. Though I do have to wash his bed yet again, which he won't be impressed about. He has many to chose from but like pets everywhere, they have their favourites.
It was good to get out and have a walk, even though it wasn't a long one. But, I still enjoyed it, and loved going through the walled garden with all the apple trees.
I am caught up! I though the Lone Star ending was a bit flat, but loved 911. Watching I'm not surprised at all that Buck/Eddie is such a strong ship.

Date: 2021-09-15 05:59 pm (UTC)I was so irritated with the LS ending!!!
The writers are like, no, Buck and Eddie are not a thing, have this other pairing on this other show, and then they do things like have Eddie make Buck Christopher's guardian if anything happens to him and have Carla say that Eddie should make sure he's following his own heart and not Christopher's. I mean, the fic basically writes itself. *g*

Date: 2021-09-14 11:11 pm (UTC)And also happy that Bodhi is home with the moms. I hope they have a restful weekend.
Feel better, Milo! ANd keep moving! You're doing great!
Ooohhh, bookstores, particularly used bookstores, are the best.

Date: 2021-09-15 10:09 am (UTC)Apparently Bodhi, Kayleigh and Lucy have been having a very relaxed time, which is great. As it's getting a little cooler I keep getting photos of B dressed in tiny jumpers, and she looks very cute.
I was talking to the vet nurse yesterday and she said Milo was one of the better ages for an amputation. Kittens and very young cats learn to adapt from the start and don't really remember four legs while older cats are content to have a stroll around and sleep, it's the cats in the middle, energetic but used to being on four legs that have issues. So, I guess it was a good thing Milo is much older.
This used bookstore was fab. It was only small but had couches and quite a lot of books in the small space. It was a lovely unexpected surprise as it was a curio selling sort of thing last time I was there.

Date: 2021-09-15 05:14 am (UTC)And also excellent news about Corey's shot!
Milo looks like a very proud sovereign up on his dais in that shot. I can see why they wanted to advertise with his photo. Though that's very disappointing about the food. I hope the return to his previous diet makes life easier on him and on you.

Date: 2021-09-15 09:52 am (UTC)It really is. I was worried as he's around so many people all of the time at his work.
I guess Milo just likes the cheaper kinds of food and it's done him no harm all of these years. I had a good talk with the vet nurse yesterday and she agreed with that, saying while vets will always say to buy the best quality possible, sometimes you just have to get what the cats actually like. So, Whiskas it is.

Date: 2021-09-15 04:39 pm (UTC)Good to hear Bodhi is home again and doing well! I don't find her name difficult to spell at all, but I guess most people haven't studied world religions at university :-)
That's great news about Corey!
Milo's become such a social media star. I hope his tummy will settle down soon!
Your visit to Gibside sounds wonderful. I love walled gardens.
Second-hand bookshops are dangerous places!

That would help *g*
Thankfully, Milo has been much better and his stomach settled fast. I'm not going to mess with his food again though. What he's had for so long suits him, and more importantly, he likes it, even if the other stuff is technically better.
