It was a lovely day yesterday so I had a wander down to the clothes alteration place. I'd just left there when my MiL phoned all full of worry and angst and telling me my SiL had fallen down the stairs and when did James finish work as someone needed to pick up the bairns and it was just, a lot.

While it's not surprising as anything seems to send her off into a tailspin lately, I tried to calm her down the best I could considering I was standing outside the shops.

Thankfully, James is still on a phased return so could pick up my niece and nephew after he finished work, though came for me first as trying to corral those two is like herding cats plus they need seat belts fastened etc. My SIL was back from the hospital at that point, fine apart from a bump on the head, a cut on her arm and horrendous bruising down her back, so she asked if we could take the kids to McDonald's for tea, so we did that. After eating his Happy Meal my nephew said it was time to go back as his mam would be making tea, and yeah, no, that's not how it works, a McDonalds is not an after school snack.

Not long after my MiL phoned the doctors phoned too. Seriously, I was alone in the house all morning and nothing, and as soon as I arrived at the shops I had two phone calls and multiple messages. Turns out they wanted me down for my flu jab. Normally they get me when I have my B12 but that's not due for a couple of months so I guess they wanted them done early.

So, that's arranged for tomorrow.

Meanwhile, Kayleigh had messaged with a photo of cat steps in B&M. I messaged back asking which B&M as if it was the one in the town we live it was literally a minutes walk away, but she never replied. When she eventually did reply she told me that Bodhi's pram had collapsed just after sending the photo so that's having to be sent back. But, it was the B&M in our town so I may pick up some more steps tomorrow.

Milo's funny, he uses the steps perfectly now but if I have to move them he climbs up them anyway and seems confused that they don't go anywhere. I was thinking the second set could go upstairs so he could go on the bed, not that he's attempted to go upstairs yet, but I'm sure he will at some point.

New Bake Off tonight! And I enjoyed the Strictly launch show on Saturday. I was pleased Graziano got a partner and hope he stays in a while with Judi.

And talking of the old man Milo, he's just jumped from the couch onto my desk, and the hell, Milo?! Way to give me a shock.

I couldn't believe so many people phoned and messaged one after the other. Like I said, I'd spent the whole morning alone in the house, and as soon as I was at the shops the calls started.

Milo seemed to be full of energy yesterday. It was nice to see.

I enjoyed Bake Off last night, and liked most of the contestants. They were a fun group.

My nephew had eaten a burger, chips and fruit bag at McDonald's.

And yet he seriously thought he'd be going home for another meal.

I think not!

That's funny. And I think it just goes to show how we all become stuck in our habits. He was used to having tea that his mom fixed, he was going to have tea even after McD's. *g*

Wow, that all sounds hectic indeed! I hope your SiL heals up soon and thoroughly.

About the stairs, I'm picturing that post that went around of some stairs in the middle of the woods just going up to nowhere. Milo beware the entrance to Faerie!

I hope my SiL heals fast too. She's lucky she didn't hurt herself much worse than she actually did.

Milo had a burst of energy yesterday, and is now fast asleep today. He's probably worn himself out.

The way cats stare sometimes I wouldn't be surprised if they saw the Fey folk. He should be wary of that entrance!

My Sil's back is a mess of bruises. She's supposed to be coming with us to the theatre on Friday but those seats are uncomfortable at the best of times. So, not sure what she'll do yet.

Well, I've had my flu jab, in and out in minutes thankfully. So, I hope you can get yours arranged too.

I don't know what was up with Milo yesterday. He had a crazy hour like he was a kitten, not a three-legged ancient cat.

That sounds like a nasty fall your SiL had so I can understand why your MiL was upset. I'm glad to hear she escaped with "only" cuts and bruises. Falling down stairs can so easily result in broken arms or legs!

I totally understand how he feels! Stairs are SUPPOSED to lead somewhere! And I'm sure he will soon feel well enough to brave the staircase regularly. He sounds quite energetic already!

It was a nasty fall my SiL had. My MiL's stairs are horrible, so narrow you can't get your whole foot on them and they twist at the bottom. The fall could have been a hell of a lot worse than it was, but even so my SiL is still hurting and bruised now.

I totally understand how he feels! Stairs are SUPPOSED to lead somewhere! And I'm sure he will soon feel well enough to brave the staircase regularly.

He makes me laugh when he climbs the stairs, as if the couch will magically appear at the top. Well, James has been taking tuna in his packed lunch lately and I also give the drained tuna juice to Pansy, putting the bowl on the stairs. Two days ago Milo decided he wanted the juice and bounded half way up the stairs, so he can do it when he wants.
