Nov. 19th, 2021 12:45 pmOur vets posted the proofs of next years calendar last night, and a bit of a kerfuffle broke out. The receptionist pulled it together this year and earlier that day she'd posted on a FB group we're both on. It's for cats adopted from the shelter where we got Murphy and the receptionist said she needed more pics of cats to fill the calendar, even if people weren't clients of the vets.
So, I was surprised when she posted the proofs and Milo and Murphy weren't included, or any of Kayleigh's cats, or many other people's cats as more and more posted asking where they were. Turns out when compiling the proofs she'd missed a folder containing 40 emails, most containing multiple pictures of cats.
Which wouldn't have been a problem, but she now had loads more pics of cats from the adopters' group already added, and had to shuffle to get all the actual client cats in, and now the calendar doesn't look good as it's full of small pics. I do feel for her, though. I suspect many can relate to thinking something was done and jumping the gun.
Still, Milo is a January kitty this time and Murphy August. And next year I will get a good pic of Pansy to include. I would have sent a not so good pic this time if I'd have known that you'd have to squint to see the pics.
James is at the garage as the car is getting its MOT, so we've been playing spot the family cat via messenger. We've found all but one now.
Talking of, yesterday James had his annual one to one at work and in about three weeks will be off any stage and sickness warnings. This is pretty big as at one point we really did think he was heading to early medical retirement and I'd never want to revisit that year of countless official meetings and needing to be there for emotional and backup support. Dropping a stage did suck in terms of finances, but we'd both make that decision over and over again knowing how much strain it lifted.
fandomtrees is open. Taken from the mod post.
Fandomtrees is a mulitfandom gifting fest similar to [community profile] fandom_stocking or [community profile] fandomgiftbox. Participants sign up with information about the fandoms, prompts, etc, they want, as well as any DNWs. Other people will then leave gifts under the trees, and the mod(s) will reveal those on the reveal date.
It looks like an excellent thing to take part in.
I took the below photo yesterday. It's the rose bush my aunt bought in memory of mam. The bush is now over six feet tall and the yellow rose and now turning pink, which I didn't even know was a thing. The roses further down are still completely yellow, but that top one is going its own way, and it looks like the buds may be pink too.

Date: 2021-11-20 06:21 pm (UTC)I read that as 'James is in the garbage' at first and I was like o_Oo_O *g*
That rose is lovely! I like that it's going its own way.

Date: 2021-11-21 10:01 am (UTC)It's wonderful that James has found a work stage that suits him and doesn't come with that kind of burden.
And the rose is beautiful! I like how lush it looks against the background of bare branches.

Date: 2021-11-22 01:56 pm (UTC)The new position James is on suits him very well. Doing the longer shifts over four days works too as it means he's always got three days off a week to recharge.
I can't believe the rose bush is still blooming like it is. It's such a burst of colour in the otherwise, mainly dormant, garden.

That would be something to update about! *g*
I like the rose is going its own way too. I do wonder if it'll end up all pink flowers eventually.

What an unusual and very pretty rose! I'd no idea yellow roses could turn pink like that. I envy you still having blooming roses.

I had no idea roses could change colour either. The flowers further down are still all yellow, then that top one is half and half with pink buds elsewhere. It's very strange.
