Thank you [personal profile] doomdaysfor the Christmas card. Seeing the beautiful Salem made me smile. It's also my first Christmas card so props to you for getting them out so quickly.

I posted all of mine at the end of last week, and for the first time in years wasn't told that my cards probably wouldn't get there in time. And yes, I was always aware of that, counter person. But, I'm giving myself a gold star this year.

The Christmas fair went well on Saturday, we didn't make a load of money but always knew we wouldn't due to the location. But what we did have was fun and James got experience selling and got his business cards out there and did sell a nice lot of stock so that was great.

We had a table next to the live music, so it was both a little noisy and also fun having a bit of a chair dance to the Christmas songs. Which is what I was caught doing on Re.F.Use's live stream on Insta *g*

There was also a most amazing pay as you feel hand-pulled wood fired pizza stall. Oh man, that was so good. Only three flavours to choose from but so incredibly tasty. It's good I didn't go there until the end of the selling period or I'd have been tempted to get another slice.

Here's a photo of James' at our stall, sadly you'll just have to imagine me rocking my reindeer antler headband.

Yesterday we went to the cinema. Some of you will know how much I love my cheesy Christmas film at the cinema where I get a festive drink from Costa in a festive cup. Well, yesterday I didn't have the cup as I use my reusable now, but I did get the drink and film and oh, it was good. We saw Boxing Day and yeah, it's not the best film I've ever seen but it was Christmas'ey and I had my drink and yeah. I missed that tradition last year.

We also did the usual Tim Hortons breakfast then grocery shopping, and also picked up an Olio order where I requested a loaf of bread and was given three. I guess the food waste hero was buried in bread donations yesterday.

Today James had an appointment with his orthopaedic surgeon. Normally I go to all his appointments but he was only given two hours paid off from work so had to go straight from his appointment to work. It went okay, he's been referred to get a new splint made for his foot and for investigations to see why his ankle is swelling, also to the back surgeon as it looks like he'll need the nerves in his back burned off again, and all I could think as he was telling me was, here we go again. It was nice to have some time off with no hospital visits.

To end on something totally different, though probably caused by thinking of the hospital appointment before I went to bed. I had a Musketeer h/c dream last night except Athos was a bastard who made Aramis hoover even though Aramis was injured. I guess my brain needed a Modern AU with a callous!Athos.

Oh no, not the end. Forgot to say, my neighbour fixed the fence so no paying at this point. It will need to be professionally done in the future, but right now it's up and that's great. Though when I was checking it out I saw I've lost half my containers from the flower shelf. I guess the storm took them so goodness knows where they are now. I'm just glad they must have been blown over the fence and not toward the house and windows as they were full of soil and therefore heavy.

I'm glad the fair went well! Those are some interesting items on James's table. Are the cutting boards merely decorative after he's burned on the image or still useable? Love the deer with the antlers and the owl and the mandalas.

I used to call it 'bar stool dancing' and it's where I had some of my best moves, lol!

I'm glad you got to go to the movies and renew your tradition.

I hope they figure out the swelling! Burning of nerves does not sound pleasant.

I laughed at making him hoover, lol!

Yay for not having to pay as much to get a new fence!

James really does nice work! if he's still into pyrography in a couple of years, I might see if he's willing to take a commission for a box for Charlie. at this point I've no idea just what he'd like, and he's not yet old enough to need a box in which to keep important Stuff

glad you got your Christmas movie fix! it's interesting how some traditions matter more than just the component elements.

good news on the fence - but it's just so odd that pots filled with soil were blown far away (thankfully, not into your house!)

James's work is fantastic! I love the range from the beautiful animals to elegant patterns to fun fannish themes.

Also, he looks extremely festive in his headband, and I can only imagine the effect was multiplied with you in yours.

I'm glad to hear this appointment went ok. And I hope the upcoming procedures to as smoothly as possible.

Congratulations getting your cards off in time!

So good to hear the fair went well! James does such wonderful work, he deserves to get more well known! He looks totally hilarious in that headdress :-) He must have made many people giggle that day and so must you - I'm sad we didn't get to see a pic of you too!

Yay for cheesy Christmas movie with (hopefully not cheesy!) Christmas drink!

What a total bastard making a sick man hoover! I be you enjoyed that dream very much :-D
