Dec. 13th, 2021 04:51 pmThank you so much
turlough for the parcel that just arrived. The wrapped package is under the tree but I have to admit I've tried the biscuits already and they're delicious. They're Snufkin shaped, yeah? Don't worry, I've left plenty for James being as he was on the label too *g*
Last night it was our Christmas dinner out with Pauline, her daughter, my brother and his family. Sadly my brother's partner had to work last minute but the restaurant did a take away of all the courses for her so that was good.
Because Pauline had been in hospital it was up to me to organise so I was glad everything worked out. Especially so as Pauline usually does it and she's very much the kind of person where if you do something a different way than she does your way is wrong. For example, the fact we'd dropped the menu choices off on Saturday but hadn't paid the balance as they said that way a tab for drinks could be opened. Well, Pauline made a comment that she thought it all had to be paid, and no, it really didn't and it took all of five minutes to pay the balance at the end of the night.
Anyway, it was a good night and good food and we all came home with slices of cake as big as our heads.
Amazingly the two parcels I was waiting for were just delivered exactly when they were supposed to. The guy delivering them said he'd been here before and did I mind that he'd put the parcels in the greenhouse that time? And I really don't. I much rather they get put in a safe space instead of having to hang around waiting for a delivery. Today it's been fine as I needed to do stuff in the house, but other days I want to be out and about.
ETA: Just got an email to say I'm one of the lucky people to win a McDonald's Big Mac tree ornament. Of all the things to win *g*

Date: 2021-12-13 05:49 pm (UTC)I'm glad you had a lovely dinner.
I like it when our deliveries are put in a safe place. Our mail lady puts them in the garage, some delivery services put them on the front porch (which is fine as it's covered, but we don't use that door, so it sometimes takes us a while to find it *g*), while some leave them on the side steps (our main entrance) which has no cover. Some have gotten wet, but luckily none stolen.

Date: 2021-12-14 07:40 am (UTC)It was a good dinner though the takeaway cake was ridiculously huge. It's no wonder they suggest taking the slices home with you.
To me it makes sense to leave deliveries in a safe space, especially when it's a busy delivery time. I don't think I'd be happy with having them left with no cover, though.

Date: 2021-12-14 10:01 pm (UTC)(I'd much rather have things left somewhere than have to drag out to wherever their depot is, but I didn't much appreciate the one who though "in the recycling bin" was a good option.)

I don't get the delivery people who leave parcels in places like that. Especially so when the bins are on the street. I've heard far too many stories of parcels ending up in bin lorries.
