Snowflake Challenge Two
Jan. 3rd, 2022 04:40 pmChallenge #2
In your own space, set some goals for the coming year. They can be fannish or not, public or private. Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.
I'm going to keep this simple.
Walk more.
Write more.
Both make me feel better when I do them, especially walking. My mail survey thing starts again this week so that's two days I have to get out for a walk, but I'm aiming for more.
As for writing, I do enjoy it, just need the spark to come back.
I could also put finish the damn Musketeers space AU story, but figure considering it would be the third year I listed that I'll take the pressure off *g*
My procrastination came and bit me today as James' work shirts have been sitting washed but unironed since before Christmas. He didn't need them over the festive period as they could wear their usual clothes, but he's back in uniform from tomorrow.
So, I got them ironed, looked at the disaster of my bedroom and sorted that out, including putting away new Christmas stuff. Changed the bedding while I was on and then had an early lobster bath while reading fic from the winterhawk exchange.
A win for me I feel. Though now I do have to make tea which is unfortunate when I'm feeling so warm and content after my bath.

Date: 2022-01-03 05:15 pm (UTC)I am so pleased that the one thing that came out of the pandemic was that my other half gave up on wearing proper shirts to work and just went back to t-shirts. His ironing hanging around the house all weekend waiting to be done was the bane of my existence!

Date: 2022-01-03 06:01 pm (UTC)Oh man, solidarity on that bane! I'm glad you don't have to deal now. James' shirts are so fiddly with pockets and straps for epaulettes and badges and collars that have to lie flat and just, arghhhh!

Date: 2022-01-03 05:20 pm (UTC)Also I am charmed by the idea of a lobster bath!

Date: 2022-01-03 05:58 pm (UTC)I love my lobster baths, though it does mean I tend to overestimate how hot bath water should actually be. James keeps saying I boil him alive when I run his bath, but the water temp he likes is far too cold for my liking.

Date: 2022-01-03 05:29 pm (UTC)Go you for getting the chores done. I'm still staring down the barrel of doing the garbage and dishes.

Date: 2022-01-03 05:56 pm (UTC)You can do those too. I'm pleased I've got all my stuff done for the day. I'm just waiting for the veggie to finish cooking then it's tea time and then settling down for some TV.

EXCELLENT goals, and doable at whatever rate the universe makes possible, too <3

Date: 2022-01-04 08:33 am (UTC)Considering the last two years I think something easy is the way to go.

Date: 2022-01-04 08:56 am (UTC)And, damn, I hope you enjoyed that bath because you had a busy productive day!

Date: 2022-01-04 09:29 am (UTC)My day was busy which I never expected it to be. Once I got upstairs it just made sense to keep on tidying and suddenly everything was done. So yes, the bath was enjoyed.

Date: 2022-01-04 06:11 pm (UTC)Ironing shirts is such a bore! So many fiddling details to get right. Go you for getting them all done AND for all the rest done too! I'm now imagining you looking like a lobster with big claws :-)

Date: 2022-01-05 08:00 am (UTC)Why they changed the uniform from black polo shirts to white shirts with fiddly bits I don't know. Okay, they look smart, but do require some careful ironing.
Ahahaha, well, the skin is red, maybe not claws.

Date: 2022-01-04 07:37 pm (UTC)And now, when you say "Lobster Bath" do you mean hot? Or something else, and is something else, what? *is curious*
no subject
Date: 2022-01-05 07:58 am (UTC)I mean very hot water so I come out with red skin looking like a lobster.
Though comments on this post have made me think of sharing with actual lobsters which makes me laugh, and wince as I imagine that would also be ouch!

Date: 2022-01-05 07:57 am (UTC)Exactly, that's what happened to me too. But I do like going out to walk, I just need to remind myself of that fact to get out of the door.
Thank you!

Date: 2022-01-06 02:41 pm (UTC)I think keeping things simple is the easiest way to succeed. There's no point in being daunted from the off.
