Anyone want a hyperactive 7 year old boy?
Santa fever's kicked in here. You may have thought we've had Santa fever for a while, but today Corey's hit the EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE SANTA'S COMING TOMORROW NIGHT! stage. Which is fun to an extent but man, I feel like I'm attached to a battery that's always switched on. We've discussed what we're having for dinner a thousand times, and that yes you can eat as much as you want. That Santa will find us at mams house, that Rudolph will love the carrots we specially picked and yes it's best not to give Santa beer because of drink driving.
Oh, who am I kidding I love this time :D. I'm enjoying it as I know it'll probably be the last year that he admits that Santa is real. Because even thought he is real people have to pretend he's not so they look cool. But I'm not and never have been cool so I'm telling all you people, Santa is real okay?! *g*
We were at the in-laws last night. They were going to come here but with Nicola breaking her leg it was easier to go there. I had fun, which the way I moan about them may be surprising but I've learned to find a quiet corner and just deal with them one to one which is so much easier. It also keeps me away from my BIL who annoys the hell out of me. So yeah, we had a late night there. The one thing that annoyed me is they wouldn't give us the Christmas gifts as they want to see us tomorrow. We spend all day Christmas eve visiting people so one less would gave been good, but it wasn't to be.
Fannish wise I have little to report because I just haven't had time to actually sit online. My LJ must be so boring for you all at the moment *g* Oh wait, I do have a rec.
mickeym wrote the most fantastic Chris story from Bev's POV. I'm not ashamed to say it made me cry. The story is here. Go read and tell her how fantastic she is.
I saw this on
kifty's LJ.
My mam has Lupus SLE and it's something that's been a shadow over our family for a long time. I fully support Howie's charity in any way that I can, so if you can sign the petition please do so. It may not help much but I fully believe any gesture, however small is a step in the right direction.

Last thing because this post isn't long enough just yet ;) That year end meme.
1. What did you do in 2003 that you'd never done before?
I tried to be an active participant in LJ instead of just someone that didn't comment.
2. Did you keep your New Year's resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I don't make them.
3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
No
4. Did anyone close to you die?
No
5. What countries did you visit?
None, I still haven't travelled outside of the UK :(
6. What would you like to have in 2004 that you lacked in 2003?
More self confidence
7. What date from 2003 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
8 Nothing really stands out
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
This is a little thing because I didn't actually do much this year, but I learned how to write HTML and built up my MX archive on my own. Which considering I had to contact a load of people, learn how to code and use a FTP was a huge thing at the time.
9. What was your biggest failure?
That I still allow my mam to have so much influence on me. I have a very happy immediate family but when she goes out I revert back to someone who's dreading the phone ringing and knowing that I'll have to deal with her either calling my sister, my brother, me, telling me how much I've failed by being a stay at home mam when I had the most potential out of all my siblings or her crying and threatening to kill herself.
10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
Just little ones. Most in the last month or so. The highlight must have been the TV dropping on my foot *g*
11. What was the best thing you bought?
My new computer, Silver.
12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
James. Because even though I moan about the early starts I'm so damn proud of him when he goes to work all dressed up with his briefcase and everything :)
13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
Mam sometimes, but really even the way she carries on that's only a small part of my life so it's not like I'm depressed all the time.
14. Where did most of your money go?
Paying off years of debt from being on the dole.
15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
LOL, I don't get excited about anything ;)
Erm, fannish stuff. New MX episodes. Did you see Brennan this year? HOT HOT HOT!!!! Oh, I went to a Trek con in January and saw Captain Kirk!! Not that I was that impressed but still, William Shatner is just such a special person for a trekker. Also, lots of popslash stuff that makes me get all excited *g*
16. What song will always remind you of 2003?
Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous: Good Charlotte
17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
i. happier or sadder? happier, I think
ii. thinner or fatter? the same
iii. richer or poorer? richer, although that's not disposable income yet so we're not seeing the benefit at the moment.
18. What do you wish you'd done more of?
Talked to people in RL
19. What do you wish you'd done less of?
Eating :(
20. How will you be spending Christmas?
At my mam's house. We go up on Christmas eve and sleep in the box room. It brings back so many memories doing that. When I had Corey, James and I slept in that tiny room with Corey for a year. I had the single bed, James slept on the floor and Corey in a carrycot. We were all exhausted getting up at all hours and I remember sitting at night feeding Corey and looking out of the window at the houses that still had lights on wondering what was keeping them awake too. We lived on top of one another in the same house as my mam, sister and brother. Had to count pennies just to eat sometimes so on Christmas when I'm back in that room I remember just how far we've come. Then the next day we get up pretty late. Corey will get up about 9 and James and I will cook dinner. They'll be mess and noise and I'll love it before collapsing exhausted at night. I'll also be sneaking off to get a LJ fix on Kayleigh's computer *g*
22. Did you fall in love in 2003?
I fall in love with my men a little more each day.
23. Any one-night stands?
Nope, at least if you mean in RL? My dirty mind doesn't count right? ;)
24. What was your favorite TV program?
Mutant X!!!! I don't care what people say I adore that show, faults and all!
25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
I don't hate anyone. I dislike some people but hate, no.
26. What was the best book you read?
I gave in and read the first 4 Harry Potters so one of them. I have OotP for Christmas.
27. What was your greatest musical discovery?
Evanescence
28. What did you want and get?
A better computer
29. What did you want and not get?
A tivo :(
30. What was your favorite film of this year?
I enjoyed PotC
31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old?
I went to dinner with James, Corey, Kayleigh and another friend.I was 29 and it was low key because with Corey's birthday being a week before we're usually broke.
32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
Maybe if I could get it into my thick head that I am worth talking to so could have more friends.
33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2003?
If it fits, is comfy and long I'll wear it.
34. What kept you sane?
My friends and family. I used LJ a lot and also escaped into fiction to block RL.
35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
Sorry have to have two. Victor Webster and Chris!
36. What political issue stirred you the most?
I'm not interested in politics which is a bad thing but there you go.
37. Who did you miss?
Some RL friends who I've drifted apart from
38. Who was the best new person you met?
I've met a whole bunch on new LJ people who all make me so happy in their own way. I'm blessed to have all of them in my life and really don't deserve such wonderful friends.
39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2003:
Some people are just plain mean.
40. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year:
"Yes, I think to myself, what a wonderful world" - Stealing that from
dine because life can be wonderful, and I hope you all can see something wonderful too.
LOL, Dad just came with gifts, I wish you could see Corey's face. And money for me so I'll be able to afford the last presents after all :D
One more thing, sorry *g* Have to say thanks for the lovely cards to
seiyaharris,
ceci2176 and
kifty who made me lol with her tree drawing. Thank you all! I also got more cards from TS list so a good mail day.
Now I'm going to answer comments at last! And yeah, I know you're all relieved to hear that lol.

Date: 2003-12-23 10:16 am (UTC)No problem on the stamp info. I usually take these petitions with a grain of salt, but Howie's organisation is good and maybe with enough people taking part the stamp may actually happen. I really hope so anyway.
