Jan. 17th, 2022 01:24 pmToday I booked tickets to see the stage show of Beauty and the Beast. We're going next week and I'm looking forward to it a lot, even though it's not actually that long ago, it feels like forever since I've been to the theatre.
James is at work doing an afternoon of overtime, which seems like nothing and silly to note, but considering not too long ago I was dubious he would manage to remain at work at all, this is a big thing.
Related, Ambulance, the TV show is filming at his workplace right now. James won't feature due to changing roles, but if any programme shows the stress levels in the service it's that one.
It's a beautiful sunny day so I've got washing on the line and will now alternate between continuing to sort out the spare room and doing Snowflake stuff.
I've booked a tip slot for tomorrow so intend to get rid of a lot of clutter. Then I can get the desks sorted and James and Kayleigh can have a shared craft room. Which will be good as James now has an electric saw thing and he's been practising making dragons. They look good, but it'll be nice to have them contained in one area.

Date: 2022-01-17 02:42 pm (UTC)Oh man, so many dragons! He's just got the saw so is started small, so the living room is littered with dragons everywhere.
I am enjoying the day so far. Though discovered that wearing an Oodie while taking down doors and hauling stuff around is not a good idea. I got just a bit hot, and now need to wash the thing.

I bet. I have discovered I am still a trainwreck at pilling cats. So I have a vet appointment for Thursday to get a topical cream for her hyperthyroidism instead.

Kayleigh has the cream to go on ears for her cats with thyroid issues. She finds it so much easier. Though thinking back, I think you've got experience with it too. I hate pilling cats so much, they should be like dogs and gobble treats down laced with pills.
I need to catch up on my flist so I can see the lovely Samantha more.

Yes, that cream exactly! Yeah, Pippin developed hyperthyroidism too. That's how I know to ask about it.
I'm so happy she's here. She doesn't crowd me, but she does swing by for pets when exploring. It's nice.

Date: 2022-01-17 10:00 pm (UTC)I miss live theatre, so I hope you have a lovely time, and we can all enjoy it vicariously when you come back here to gush about it (yes?)
And that's great news on James being well enough to work extra hours. Nothing silly about mentioning that

Date: 2022-01-19 03:42 pm (UTC)I will gush about it! I love live theatre too and missed it a lot when the theatres were closed. We actually had tickets to see the touring Phantom, but it was cancelled in the first lockdown and has never been rescheduled :(
Nothing silly about mentioning that
Thank you <3

Date: 2022-01-19 08:24 pm (UTC)I miss the theatre. I mean, it's trickier to go with the dogs than it used to be when we were canine-free and therefore carefree, but I love the atmosphere of a live performance. There's nothing quite like it. I can't even remember what the last thing we saw was :(

Date: 2022-01-19 03:38 pm (UTC)It was so good getting rid of the bags of stuff. A bit sad in some cases, but I really didn't need a tatty giant stuffed wasp that was doing nothing but getting dusty and taking up room.

Date: 2022-01-19 03:36 pm (UTC)I suspect so, I've met a lot of James' co-workers over the years due to social events. Also heard a lot about the HART team which are based in the same building and tend to be shown doing the more dramatic calls.
You're right about it being an extraordinary show, though watching often makes me angry when I remember all the cuts to the service that have been made resulting in long waits and worn down paramedics.
It's been a huge change. I honestly never thought he'd do overtime again.

Date: 2022-01-19 05:32 pm (UTC)Overtime isn't usually something you hear people being excited about but in this case it's totally deserved. I'm so happy that James is doing so well!
Sunny days are the best!
James is making dragons?! That is so cool!! But yes, it definitely sounds like he needs a dedicated craft room now.

Me too. It's been such a change.
James is making dragons?!
He is, scroll saw dragons apparently. They look good, just there's a lot of them.
