Well, I can easily say this one is done as helping mod at Snowflake means I've commented to a lot of new people lately. Turns out I enjoy comment chatting, go figure *g*

But I'm always up for more comment chatting so will say hi here too. To my old friends, new friends, those that prefer to lurk. Hello.

I've been to the tip again today, and have to admit am procrastinating a little before having to go upstairs to dismantle the bed in the spare room. So have photos of Milo and Murphy.

Milo ( black and white ) is my old kitty legend. He's 18 plus ( he was a rescue so we're not sure how old he is exactly ) and had a hard year last year when he broke his back leg and had to have it amputated. He's doing well now, though. He's got steps to get onto the couch and our bed but really just mostly lives his life like nothing has changed.

Murphy ( tabby) is 2 and still a crazy idiot. He loves to sleep under blankets and jump on my shoulder so he can bat at the hang pull in the bathroom. He's also a ridiculous lap cat and if I'm watching TV he'll be there too, sharing a blanket.

I had an interview this morning and I think it went well! Now I'm about to re-watch Dracula's Daughter ahead of recording a podcast later :)

Word of Honor is the fandom consuming my brain at the minute, although I've started re-playing the Mass Effect games now that I've got my hands on the Legendary Edition and I'm back in my feelings about that, too.

I think you deserve watching something good and doing something you enjoy.

You know, I love Snowflake because it lets me enjoy fannish joy even if I'm not part of the fandom. I hope you enjoy every moment of Word of Honor, and Mass Effect. Though it sounds like you may need more hours in the day *g*

Kitties! Poor Milo, that must be hard to adjust to at his age. My sister has a 3 legged cat who lives a very full (and spoiled) life, but he lost his hind leg as a baby.

I don't usually rec things I haven't finished reading but I received a novel called The Wisteria Society of Lady Scoundrels by India Holton for Christmas and am so far enjoying it. It's a kind of zaney Victorian fantasy with flying house piracy. Flying Victorian houses, but with cannons and pirate flags.

I have to admit, very early days after the amputation I have a few wobbles if we'd done the right thing. But he did eventually adjust and every step forward he made we celebrated, him going upstairs, downstairs, getting on the couch. I think he was cheered every time he went up his steps for weeks *g*

Plus, people kept telling me stories of cats, like your sister's, who coped well with three legs and that helped. I'm glad your sister's tripaw is happy, too.

Oh, that book sounds like something I need to check out. What an intriguing combination. Thank you for telling me that!

It's always hard to make medical decisions for pets when you can't explain to them what is going on :/

My sister's cat has pet stairs to get on and off the bed and couch, he just never uses them. He's also 100% capable of jumping from the floor to the kitchen table without assistance if you leave food out but will pretend he's too weak to jump on the couch himself and beg to be picked up, until you ignore him long enough and he starts climbing your leg like it's a scratching post.

I have to admit, that made me laugh. Cat's are just so cat at times. It's good we love them so much.

You can tell Murphy is still young, he goes from being a cuddle bug to a crazy fool *g*

And yeah, Milo is still loving life, even if it's at a slower pace now.

Midnight still does that occasionally, though I'm not sure if it's because the last few years of his life with my aunt were pretty sedentary so he gets a lot more play time (especially with Pip, lol) than he did before he moved in with us.

Yes, Grant is still a handful. *g*

I have one cat, named Ginger, but she doesn't like to be photographed, whenever I lift up my phone to snap a pic it's like she knows and turns her back or walks away. It's amazing how resilient they are, especially at such an older age (what a gentleman!). I'm glad that Milo has been behaving as nothing has happened—I think that must be one of the most reassuring things you could experience as his human servant.

Please give Milo and Murphy so many unwanted kisses! My three are too busy chilling before they undoubtedly wreak havoc. I imagine they might have a secret Zoom call with your two to discuss how to best get up to mischief today.

I've been amazed at how Milo bounced back after such a traumatic injury. I mean, yeah, the first weeks were a bit rough but now you'd think he'd always walked on three legs.

I have passed on the unwanted kisses and will keep an eye out for any potential mischief because yes, I bet they have been plotting with your three, who I'm sure are adorable too.

I'm very excited we're getting a third season of Star Trek: Lower Decks.

She is an adorable cat, but also very opinionated. When it is time for her to be fed, she yells at us. When it is time for us to go to sleep and her to stand sentry, she yells at us. When it is time for pets, she yells at us then, too.

kitties! murphy kind of looks like a nutbar, but i mean that in the nicest way. he's very cute. and milo looks very intent on something. eighteen seems old for a kitty but he wears his years well.

currently my favorite thing on tv is claws, which is ott and operatic and just nuts. it's about a bunch of women who work at a nail salon - and then it's about all the wild shit they get up to - so the manicures are out of this world. this is the last season and there are only three more episodes and i cannot figure out how they're going to end it, and when it's done i'm going to miss it.

You're not wrong, Murphy is a nutbar. That's a great way to describe him *g*

18 is old for a kitty but apart from the leg drama, he's doing really well. He was at the vets last week and apart from very mild kidney disease he's perfectly healthy, which always amazes me.

Claws sounds fantastic! which is ott and operatic and just nuts. That is a very appealing description and in fact I went to find out more but sadly it's not shown on Netflix or Prime UK or I'd check it out.

I'm currently being crushed by my big ginger cat, Bellamy, who is way too big to be in my lap. He's an ornery brat, though, and is either loving on you or attacking you (either for petting him or not petting him or trying to walk past him or just looking at him weird... like I said, he's ornery).

We have two other male cates. A tan tabby called Leo who is my daughter's cat and stays mostly in her room (otherwise it's an all-out war between him and the others) and a gray tabby called Silver which is my cat. He's the youngest (he'll be 4 in July, the same day Bellamy turns 6 while Leo will be 5 in April) and follows me around like a puppy. All I need to do is click my tongue and he comes running. He gets super jealous if one of the other cats or my grandson is near me and will hop in my lap to claim his person. It's ridiculous.

We used to have a female cat (Leo's litter-mate), Lilah, but she passed from some unknown toxin in September 2020. It's been over a year, and it's still weird not having her in the house.

This was the best thing to use for this challenge because I'm getting to see and hear about so many awesome kitties.

They're all beautiful and you've described them so well I can easily imagine their characters shining through.

I'm sorry about the loss of Lilah. I just lost one of my cats, Pansy, a few weeks ago and she's a huge miss. Like Leo, she tended to keep out of the way of the other two, but I always knew she was there, and she was always the first to come see who was coming into the house when I came home.

Tonight I knitted four rows on my Project Linus blanket while Facetime chatting with my niece - a nice evening.

Those look like some highly characteristic poses for the cats. What energy and dignity, respectively!

That does sound like a nice evening. I'm always impressed by people who can knit. My nanna tried to teach me but I really didn't have the knack.

I can just barely knit - definitely nowhere near what Turlough or Pen do - but luckily for me this blanket just requires repeating the two most basic stitches many times, and that I can do!

Milo is a ROCKSTAR and Murphy seems to really be growing into a fun, affectionate wee soul <3

I'm watching Yellow Jackets at the moment - it feels a bit like Lost did, early doors, although a LOT more gruesome. I'm liking it enough that I'm pleased that there's going to be another season.

I agree, Milo is a rockstar. He's done so well. As for Murphy, he is fun and affectionate. The only thing I worry about is he's nervous about new people. I do often wonder if it's because we got him just before first lockdown so he only saw us for ages.

I have Yellow Jackets on my DVR to watch so I'm glad it's getting a thumbs up from you.
