Feb. 3rd, 2022 02:18 pmThank you
misbegotten for the happy heart day card ♥ to you too, and thank you to
sperrywink for the amazing birthday present of the felted dragon necklace. It's beautiful! And I can't wait for an occasion to wear it.
I was glad it was a good mail day as the rest has been meh. James is off with another bad kidney infection, meaning I'm extra pleased he's come out of his sickness warnings at work. It took three nurses and two doctors nearly an hour to get two vials of blood this morning and now he's on the mega antibiotics again and has to phone back on Monday to make sure he's starting to feel better.
He started to feel really off at work yesterday and a report has been put in as he ended up pulling the cord in the disabled toilets needing help, and no one came for 20 minutes despite the light flashing outside and at reception. Thankfully he managed to get to the door and find someone to help but like he said, if he'd collapsed with something serious he'd have been a goner.
Minor but adding to the meh, came home from the doctors, went to make an omelette for dinner and the eggs were black inside which was gross and means I feel like never eating an egg again.
The news about the 53% hike in electric/gas costs didn't help either. I mean, we're not at the point of eat or heat but once that hits our payments are going to shoot up.
Oh, but another good thing. We get our new Motability car on Tuesday. It's at the garage now but needs the adaptions doing, so a few days and we can pick her up. I'll miss Clem, she's been a lovely car but honestly, this automatic boot will make things so much easier.
So really, I guess it's half meh half yay day.

Date: 2022-02-03 09:35 pm (UTC)I hope James feels better soon. Stupid kidney infection.
YAY also for the new car! May it bring you many years of joy and trips to the beach.

Date: 2022-02-04 09:15 am (UTC)I suspect he's still got a little scarring from the kidney stones going on meaning he gets infections in them easier. Though this is the worse for a while. He seems a bit brighter today, and I'll know he's feeling much better when he heads off to sawing upstairs.
Ahahaha. It's like you know us or something. I suspect this car is going to spoil us for any future cars as it has so many fab features. James has told everyone no tip runs are going to happen for a few months, especially for my SiL who's sent maggot'ey bag on a few occasions.

I truly hope James is on the mend. Yowza, that sounds awful!

Date: 2022-02-04 11:01 am (UTC)Poor James. I hope someone gets a serious rocketing for ignoring his call for help. Very best wishes to him for a smooth recovery.
Really, I'm glad you had some Good Stuff in today! New car sounds great!

Date: 2022-02-04 08:49 pm (UTC)Poor James! I'll keep everything crossed the antibiotics will help swiftly! (But that totally sucks about the lack of response for his distress signal! I hope whoever's responsible will get a good talking-to!)
Ugh, how awful about the eggs! I feel very lucky I've never had to experience that.
And boo! for the big hike in electricity and gas costs!
But yay! for new car!

Date: 2022-02-04 11:49 pm (UTC)Same on the gas and electric costs (our fixed price deal ended in December, and the new ones are astronomical!). The whole thing's such a mess.
Exciting for the new car though. I desperately want a new car; I'm very jealous :)

Date: 2022-02-10 07:00 pm (UTC)*gags* I've never seen black eggs and I hope I never do.
Wow! That price hike is ridiculous!
Yay, new car! So by now you have possession of it?!! I hope it's as glorious as it sounds.
