Feb. 9th, 2022 05:25 pmYesterday I got a letter saying my annual blood tests were due. As I needed to pick up my prescription today, I called in the doctors to book an appointment and they said if I had time I could go in there and then. So, four vials done and back out within five minutes of going through the door. Excellent service from them.
James' bloods came back clear, he was worried about being diabetic as he drinks loads at night, but that was fine as was everything else they tested bloods for. Though it was confirmed he's got a nasty kidney infection, but thankfully the antibiotics are helping that.
It was new Motability car day yesterday, and it was goodbye Clementine Bette, hello

It's easily the nicest and most high tech car we've had, not only does it have a magic boot, but the whole roof rolls back. We thought it just had a see through roof but no, the whole thing goes back, and it has electric gizmos everywhere, cameras to see behind you, an alarm if the car swerves over the lane lines, mood lighting, electric adjusting seats. We were lucky we ordered when we did as the deposit jumped to nearly 2k and I can see why. Thankfully our deposit was fixed at the low rate because I really don't think we'll be able to afford the deposit for a car like this again in the future.
The new season of 911 has started and I've began watching that, though no sign of Lone Star yet which is weird as they were broadcast together last time. New Resident Alien starts soon and unexpectedly, season 4 of Hudson and Rex which was such a great surprise. I really like that show a lot.
I need to catch up on my flist and have a load of comments to answer, which I will do asap. So, hope you're all doing well in the meantime.

Date: 2022-02-09 07:57 pm (UTC)Oh Terri! New car is lovely! I love the color. How is that automatic boot?

Date: 2022-02-10 10:03 am (UTC)The automatic boot is amazing! You can open/close it from inside the car or on the keyfob or a button on the back. While it's a convenience for me for James it's making his life so much easier. Because he can't lift his arms up before we had to fashion a loop of cord and attach it to the boot and he'd have to try and snag that to shut the boot if he was alone. Now one push of a button and it's done.

Date: 2022-02-10 07:04 pm (UTC)This year they're doing the two 9-1-1s separately because it was too hard to make sure there were two eps done per week, since they have the same showrunners. For us, LS started in January. I don't know if the OG will take a break, like it does here, or if you'll just power through all of those eps, then start the other.
Yay for more Hudson & Rex!

Your new car is looking so sleek and smart! It sounds very smart too with all those electric gadgets! Electrically adjustable seats sounds awesome and so of course does the magic boot. Have lots of fun driving round in your new car!

Date: 2022-02-21 04:24 pm (UTC)Sadly James' kidney issues are still there so he's got a hospital appointment coming up. They're 99% sure it's the other kidney stone but have to be sure.
The car is amazing! All the gadgets are perfect.

The car is great, and the roof is amazing. I still can't believe we have something so nice. The roof is going to be such an asset when it's warm enough to actually open it.
