May. 8th, 2022 03:24 pmJames woke at 5 this morning, I was up half an hour later so we decided to get ready and go for an early morning walk at the beach. We missed the sunrise but it was still beautiful, so calm and still. Plus, everyone we met was so friendly, saying good morning and having a chat as we got to fuss some excellent dogs.
Sadly, it was too early for any of the coffee kiosks to be open so we called at Costa when it opened before shaking up our usual Sunday routine a little by going to Company and then to visit Pauline for a while.
Because of the early start, we were home just after midday so I've been getting on with planting out more bedding plants and potting on more of my seedlings. Sadly a tray of tomatoes have totally wilted, I'll try to bring them back but I suspect they're too far gone. Thankfully they were my backup stock, but still, poor seedlings.

This wasn't today but yesterday after we'd been to see Doctor Strange and ended up at Herrington Country Park for a walk. This mammy swan was taking such care with her babies and had made a fine job of the nest. I know it looks close but I wasn't, I gave her her space.

Just signal boosting a little.
3weeks4dreamwidth has a post up asking for anyone who would like some DW points to comment and they'll be donated some. I know times are hard, and some very lovely people have donated points to me in the past so I could keep my paid account going, so I know how good it is to be gifted points. If you would like some you can read all about it and ask, in a screened comment here

Date: 2022-05-09 12:14 pm (UTC)Early morning sunshine is gorgeous. You're both right, it is very distinctive.
The tray of seedlings that wilted were first on the rack in the greenhouse near the door, so I'm not sure what happened to them. Too hot, too cold, too windy when the door was opened. Too little water. Too much. They're fickle things sometimes. But year, everything else is going great.
The swan babies were so cute.
