I'm Up In Space, Man.
May. 15th, 2022 09:04 amWe went to Re.F.Use for breakfast yesterday morning and got a 'waste not' box while we were there. It was a decent one but one of the surprise contents was okra. I've never tried or cooked with okra, but looking it up, it seems it's nice roasted or in a stir fry, so I think I'll try one of those.
After that, we needed cat food, and while in the shop I picked up more bedding plants which I planted out during the afternoon before going to hang with Kayleigh, Lucy and Bodhi for a couple of hours. It was a beautiful day so we stayed in their garden and soaked up the sun.
Then on the night, it was Eurovision. I liked the UK entry a lot and Sam Ryder seems like a really nice guy so I enjoyed the show, admittedly dozing a little through the group of slow ballets but I can well understand why UK Twitter was trending 'what is happening' because that's what I was thinking all through the result part.
But the winners were worthy and I was pleased with the final standings. I also liked Mika's performance, though wish he'd stuck to that and not presenting, him and the other two presenters both.
I was surprised Germany did so badly as I really liked the song. It reminded me of something from Tom Grennan, who I also like a lot, so yeah, a surprise there. Also, The Rasmus. Talk about a blast from the past. I remain amused at the speculation that Ben Adams from A1 could be behind one of the masks in Norway's contribution. Only because he lived in my town for a while and it'll be the closest brush with celebrity I'll ever have *g*
In all, it was a good night, even if it did have me up past midnight for the first time in a while. I'm sure anyone who is interested will have seen the show already, but you can see the videos here and yet again Innocent drinks knocked it out of the park with their FB commentry.
