It's July tomorrow and that means Movies 24 changes to Christmas in July! A full month of Christmas films for my background enjoyment. Happiness.

July also means the start of sunshine_challenge which is great. I've never been as successful doing this one as Snowflake but I'll give it a go.

James was off yesterday so we went to the cinema and saw Good Luck to You Leo Grande and it grabbed my attention throughout, which is impressive considering that the vast majority of the film is two characters only in the one setting of a hotel room.

Other than that it was our day to visit my MiL and she's doing okay. She's had some tests that were negative but obviously, something is wrong, they just don't know what yet.

Then home as my brother was supposed to be coming, and yet again ended up working late so didn't. He's going to try for 5 today so we'll see if he actually does manage to get away this time.

I watched the final of Glow Up last night, then the final of Sewing Bee was bumped for the tennis which I wasn't amused about. It's available on iPlayer now so I'll have to watch that at some point today.

If they do I hope you manage to catch a Christmas movie. There's something so strange and yet so great about watching them when it's hot and sunny outside.

It's a good film and I was very impressed that Emmma Thompson didn't use a body double. It was very refreshing to see an actual older woman naked on screen, no air-brushed perfection.

Thank you. My MiL is still making noises about discharging herself if she's still there next Saturday when it's her birthday. So I really hope we don't get to that point.

Yay for Christmas movies!

That sounds frustrating though that the docs haven't been able to find a diagnosis for your MiL yet. I hope they can figure out the best things to help her. - And I also hope that your brother gets time to come over and get started!

I'm sorry that your show got pre-empted, but I had to laugh as my aunt's view is the exact opposite - tennis is her very favorite thing to watch and so my sister and I are constantly phoning her to let her know when the big tournaments are broadcasting matches. It's a real bonanza for her.

You know how much I love a Christmas movie.

Well, my brother did turn up and it looks like things will be starting at the end of this month, so at least there is news about that.

Pauline loves the tennis too, so she's thrilled over the Wimbledon fortnight. Me not so much, especially when matches overrun and my shows get bumped.

I may have watched quite a few Christmas movies already :D

Well my MiL is home now. They're still not sure what was wrong exactly but she's got appointments for more heart-based tests in the future so it's something to do with that.

There's so much tennis on right now, and still another week to go.

Well, I fully expected James to fall asleep as it's not really his thing, but he stayed awake through it all and enjoyed it. It helped it wasn't that long and actually very compelling, with a lot of nakedness and sex scenes.
