Jul. 22nd, 2022 01:23 pmWe met up with my in-laws today for breakfast at the cafe near my MiL's old house and to lay flowers for my FiL. Tomorrow it's a year since he died so it was nice to connect and think about him. James also got talking to one of his old neighbours who said their old family house was up for sale so we looked it up and it's been done up so well. I always knew it could be a lovely family house and that photos show that it is now.
We would have met up tomorrow but we'd already had plans for a craft fair held by Consett Cats, the place where we adopted Murphy. We would have changed them, or met up before or after but my MiL didn't really want to be near the place she lost my FiL on the actual anniversary, especially as my young niece and nephew would have to be there too. So it worked out nicely going today.
Yesterday we used some proceeds from the last craft fair to buy a Festival trolley. It's going to be so useful to carry boxes and also to bring the heavy shopping and sacks of cat litter from the garage to the house. I tested it today and it was perfect to trundle home a sack of cat litter and a big bag of compost. Then tomorrow it will be well used at the fair. I've been using James' old wheelchair for moving purposes but this will be much more practical.
Of course Murphy had to

James also got himself a plastic stylised tree to display baubles and wall hangings. So I guess this side job is sticking around a bit.
I'm looking forward to the fair tomorrow, both to hopefully sell some stuff, but also to see some of the cat adopters I've got to know via the private FB group. The group is desperate for money right now, it's run by one woman and her husband and right now they have 103 cats and kittens in their care, including some who are ill or have conditions that mean they will always be long-term residents and not be adopted out. So, fingers crossed a lot will go and we can give a nice donation from the profits.

Date: 2022-07-22 01:35 pm (UTC)Unsurprisingly Murphy was inside of it just after that. Because of course, everything has to be inspected and approved by him *g*

Date: 2022-07-22 02:12 pm (UTC)I really like this collsable/foldable trolley which I have - it's light weight, very maneuverable, and the fact that the top basket is high means I can avoid stooping/bending

Date: 2022-07-23 08:33 am (UTC)The trolley looks awesome, so spacious and sturdy! I hope it will serve you well. And that you and James leave the fair with many less goods than you arrive with!

Date: 2022-07-24 07:16 pm (UTC)I'd never heard of Festival trolleys before. They sound very useful! I can see why Murphy's so interested though - it does look a little like a cat bed on wheels :-)

Date: 2022-07-26 04:57 pm (UTC)I've seen Festival trolleys around in places like the beach, and of course, in photos of festivals. But this is the first time I've actually used one. They're so useful, and not just as a mobile cat bed *g*
