Jul. 29th, 2022 01:15 pmI did go to bed early the other night, even missing the end of the England Ladies' semi-final match. But I was asleep as soon as my head hit the pillow and had the best sleep that I've had for a while.
It's the last ever episode of Neighbours broadcast here today so I've been watching the final episodes this week. I used to be a devoted fan back in my early teens and can still remember rushing home from school at dinner time to catch the lunchtime showing because Scott and Charlene were getting married.
While I haven't watched for many many years it's all coming back as the old characters come back or are coming back for some special moments. Such lovely memories of watching that show, and I've just seen that the whole wedding episode is on YouTube. Bring on the curly perm and mullets.
Yesterday I met up with
tara We first met back in our popslash days, back when Corey was a pre-teen, and despite her living in Australia have met up again many times since then. We had a delicious lunch, called in soft play so she could see Kayleigh and Bodhi for five minutes -- not as random as it sounds as she's met Kayleigh before too. As per our usual, had a walk along the prom at the beach as we caught up, and finally went to Dog and Scone, the dog cafe where we got doggo cuddles and licks and more talking before we sadly dropped her back off at the hotel.
It was such a lovely day, and yet again I sigh at the fact some of my most favourite people live oceans away.
Today I had a lymph appointment at the hospice with Grahame. It was great to see him again and it turns out he was off with long Covid, came back and while on a phased return caught Covid again. He showed me how to put on the foot pieces but was happy for me to just use them if I ever get puffy feet again, which they're not atm. He's going to book me in for maintenance bandaging but apparently, that isn't as strict and he prefers a bandage that only needs to be redone three times a week and all the actual work happens in the three hours after they're applied so it's easier to have baths etc. He didn't really explain at length as he needed to go and have a think about what type to do and will send out appointments via the post, so I guess I'll see when that letter arrives.
Oh, and he also told me I'd got my measurements wrong after last time, it wasn't one and one and a half pints lost, it was one and a half and nearly 2 litres lost which is so much better.
