Sep. 4th, 2022 02:55 pmI've read back as far as far as DW would let me, but if I've missed something important please link.
All the trailers for the autumn shows have started to appear. Bake Off, Strictly, All Creatures Great and Small so far and bring them on. Last night it was the start of The Masked Dancer and I enjoyed it lots. Though as always I didn't come close to guessing who Astronaut was. I never do guess, I'm bad enough guessing masked singers never mind dancers, but I still love the routines and the costumes and the surrealness of it all.
I also read
wenchpixie and
dapatty pod_together fic and it was so good, the kind of bandom story I cherish which MCR just being them. I fully recommend it Gerardboard.
More small steps forward have been taken. Yesterday we headed to Company Shop as the freeze-dried treats our cats love were on special for 6 packets for £1. Due to having a membership card each, and each card allowed two shops we came home with 28 packets which will last them a while. I also came home with a big paper carrier bag full of cherry tomatoes. This is despite having a glut of my own tomatoes I've grown, but I couldn't pass by the price of 75p a bag. So I made a huge pan full of tomato sauce and added garlic, shallots, mushrooms and courgettes. I have to admit it's very tasty and now it's fully cool I'll decant it into bags and freeze.
After that shop James lay on the couch and slept for 7 hours. This was after he was feeling good on the morning and had told me if it wasn't for some practical reasons he felt well enough to go back to work, and yeah, not so much yet and a big sign he's heading for the feeling a bit better so will be tempted to do too much stage.
Today we drove to the beach and had a short walk. Now I'm here doing this and James is asleep on the couch again. Hopefully not for 7 hours this time.
ETA: I forgot to say, James got a phone call yesterday. It was his back surgeon apologising for phoning a little early for their phone appointment. The problem was, we had no idea he actually had one as no letter had arrived. It wasn't an issue this time as he was in the house and able to talk, and it was just a follow up so nothing that important. But I do worry that between the two recent Royal Mail strikes and remaining Covid-related staff shortages, we're missing other stuff too.
