I signed up for Tryit a while back, after a mention by wenchpixie I think, and got a box of stuff to try a few weeks back. Obviously, it has been a bit busy in those weeks so I've just sat to do my reviews which could be summed up as, the cats love the Blink cat food, Minions chews are tasty, as is Momo chocolate but my goodness, Corona tropical grapefruit and lemongrass alcoholic sparkling water is fit for nothing but the sink and we won't mention the forest fruits energy drink again, in fact, I suspect the Blink would taste better.

I did start watching 911 Lonestar, and two episodes in am delighted it started with an ice storm. Oh show of insane situations taken seriously, I've missed you so. I've also caved and read the Strictly pairing spoilers so am hoping the launch show goes ahead as planned next weekend.

I've been in a Musketeers mood again lately and bath and book have been fic for them. I was so pleased to see that apparently, the fandom is embracing sicktember and posting the results at AO3, not so pleased to see that people continue to write things that don't fit exactly what I want. But hey, I take my bulletproof kinks where I can get them.

Also, while TM link surfing at AO3 I discovered that I'd missed that dirty_diana had posted a beautiful Musketeers fanvid that is just lovely and shows their relationship so well.

Why must there be only three seasons of the show? And why must one of those seasons be so wrong in so many ways I can barely make myself think about it?

I guess I should go consider making tea. A minion chew and some Momo chocolate does not make a meal.

Yeah, lemongrass and grapefruit was always going to be weird. But the cats loved the cat food, and the chocolate, despite being dairy free, was really tasty.

No, no, I am pretty sure you are mistaken. They only made two seasons of Muskateers and they were glorious. They talked about making a third one, but IT NEVER HAPPENED AND NO HOURS OF MY LIFE WERE DEVOTED TO WATCHING IT!

Also, Athos' faaaaaaaaaaaaaaace, he is such a ridiculous broken man and I love him very much.

What fic things are you hankering for that fandom is not supplying in abundance?

It was so bad! While I was more diplomatic in my actual review about the product, I really couldn't say there was anything about it I actually liked.

OMG! I can tell you can understand my pain about that third season that never happened! I don't think a show has ever disappointed me more.

Oh Athos, I knew I would enjoy him the first time I saw him dunk his head in that icy bucket. While Aramis is my favourite, I love them all, and Constance too of course.


What fic things are you hankering for that fandom is not supplying in abundance?

The sad thing is, what I want is Aramis centric h/c and there is actually a lot of that about, but written in a way that makes me wonder if I'd watched the same show as the writer. Men do cry, I don't care if they cry in fic, I like if they cry in fic, but not when they sob through the whole thing.

I want adventures, slash, gen or het. Hot OT4 sex and hell, throw Constance into that mix too. I want daring deeds and fights and wounds that need to be sewn after a battle. Musketeers hiding injuries and bloody wounds and broken bones. Lost in forests when it's freezing cold, bonds that can never be broken, hidden kisses and blatant flirting from Aramis who puts on so much flourish it can be waved off as teasing but he means every word.

One of my favourite series is the Dragon Riders series which is gen and written by someone who loves h/c and you can tell because it's written so well. I was so sad when that series was finished, even though it was really long.

I am very, very fond of Athos and very, very fond of D'artangan (and exceedingly fond of them both together :D). Constance was also awesome and the villains, oh the villains were so gooooooooood.

Okay, so h/c is not often my bag to be fair, but I am genuinely not fond of any fic where characters cry extensively, because it never seems to reflect the reality of that character. Like, excessive crying always, always makes me think of this scene from Bedazzled and then I am out of the moment :D

OH! This, hell yes this, I am absolutely here with you in the passenger seat for this ride. I lovelovelovelovelovelovelove this trope (especially because it combines well with the group leader/group member power interactions honestly in whichever way you want to spin them)
