Sep. 13th, 2022 03:34 pmI finally got my appointment for the maintenance lymphoedema bandaging. It's four times over the first two weeks of November on a Tuesday and Thursday and I hope Grahame is right and that the bandages do do all the work in the first three hours as I can't see them staying up between a Thursday and Tuesday.
James phoned the hospital today to chase up his appointment for his next op. When it was fitted they said the stent needed to stay in between four and six weeks but today the surgeon's secretary checked and said his op date was any time from the 28th of Oct, which is nearly three weeks after that six weeks. He mentioned that and the lady said everyone got told that time frame and that there was still a backlog of cases but she'd try her best to fit him in as close to after six weeks as possible. Which I'm taking as he'll be lucky to get a date on the 27th. With recovery time for the next op, that means he's looking at late November for a return to work..
Last medical thing, we were both able to book our Covid seasonal booster and have appointments early Tuesday morning at the local health centre.
Today I've visited Kayleigh and Bodhi down at Costa, and got some lovely cuddles and playtime with Bodhi. Been to a specialist shop to order the plastic cladding for the ceiling -- cladding which has just been delivered and is now totally blocking the hallway. Gone to the park for a walk and soak in the sun, and taken Megan to the vet as Kayleigh and Lucy are down to one car atm and Lucy has it at work today.
Megan is a frequent visitor to the vet as she has a bad skin condition and gets monthly steroid injections. Today she saw the actual head of the practice for the first time and he went through her records carefully and recommended some things to try, including blood tests for allergies which apparently haven't been done despite Megan having these breakouts for at least eight years. So, fingers crossed something comes of that.
It's such a gorgeous day today. I really like this slide from summer into autumn and enjoyed our walk in the park and the fact I've got a wash load of laundry on the line, so hopefully that has dried.

Date: 2022-09-14 11:55 am (UTC)It's great that you were able to get cuddles and playtime with Bodhi.
I can't believe they've never suggested checking Megan for allergies?!!!
I'm enjoying the cooler temps at the same time I'm mourning no more shorts and tank tops. *g*

Date: 2022-09-14 04:06 pm (UTC)Bodhi was adorable yesterday and for the first time lifted her arms up for a cuddle. Sadly Kayleigh was just telling me she's had to take her to the kids A&E as she's not well today.

I couldn't believe it either. You'll probably know but Megan was mam's cat and we share her in that Kayleigh looks after her at her house, buys food etc and I pay for the insurance. Thankfully mam got Megan top-of-the-line insurance and we kept that going, which is great as for years she's had monthly steroid and sometimes antibiotic injections. I do wonder if the practice has got complacent and thinks the monthly visits are just something that happen now, instead of actually still trying to find a cause.

I totally get that. I went out today in a sundress and realised I could have done with a bit more coverage for when I wasn't actually walking.

Date: 2022-09-14 04:49 pm (UTC)I really hope so. We were both surprised when that first date was given. He was hoping for close after the four weeks, not even more weeks after the six.
Yeah, as soon as we could book I got our boosters sorted. Hopefully, you can get yours soon too.

Date: 2022-09-17 03:39 pm (UTC)I'm sure my appointments will go well. I still don't know how Grahame's method is different but I guess I'll find out. Maybe glue is involved *g*
I'd love to think the allergy testing will show something for Megan. I just don't get why they haven't done so before. It seems such a basic thing.
I agree, autumn is the best. Cool but not cold and the scenery is beautiful.
