I've been battling a cold and cough recently and have been hitting the hot lemonade and lemsips. Yesterday I thought I'd combine the two, and bad decision. Did you know lemsips explode and cause a fountain of bubbles if they're added to hot lemonade? Well, I didn't, and they do.

I got post today, thank you so much pensnest for the parcel. Your gifts are the first ones under the tree, and the decorations are beautiful.

The postman also brought two parcels that have been stuck at a transport hub for over a week, so apart from one small thing, that's all bought presents accounted for.

The bed also arrived today, and I now have a super king-size mattress stuck along the passage to the kitchen. This wouldn't be an issue except the hall cupboard and tumbler are now completely blocked off. It makes sense it was left there as the decorators will need room tomorrow, and Corey's old room and the spare room are both full of stuff from our bedroom, but I really hope my brother will answer my plea and help me get the mattress upstairs once the carpet is down. He's supposed to be coming one afternoon this week to do some work in the kitchen, but well, I wasn't holding my breath for that.

Oh dear! A bubble fountain is definitely not what you need in your hot lemonade! Good luck conquering the cold in any case. I had the beginning of one yesterday but I'm feeling much better this evening so hopefully my immune system has vanquished it *keeps fingers crossed*

Oh goodness! It's bad enough feeling ill, but definitely not the time you want a drink bursting into a fountain of bubbles. I hope it wasn't too much of a mess to clean up. And I do hope you're feeling better.

I'm feeling okay but the cough is lingering. Not covid, thankfully, I tested for that. But yeah, a bit of a mess. The bubbles went everywhere.

My brother is coming on Friday to help take the mattress upstairs. Which I'm very relieved about. I just need to work out how to get into the cupboard now or I'll be hooverless for days *g*

I'm glad you're feeling better from your cold. I don't feel too bad but the cough is hanging on.

I was so relieved when the presents arrived. Though, at this point, I suspect the smaller one will be arriving in the new year as it hasn't moved for weeks.

Chris says he'll help move the mattress on Friday, and fit the kickboards at the same time. So, I'm staying hopeful that by Friday night the house will be nearly put to rights again.

Wait, what? Hot lemonade? Is that a thing? I do hot orange squash when I'm poorly (mostly because I can't face the milk in tea or coffee at that point) but I've not heard of hot lemonade

Yeah, I drink hot squash too, but our family have always drank hot lemonade when we're poorly. Not sure if it's a NE thing or just an us thing, but it's very comforting.
