turpsFirst, let it be known I triumphed over the Christmas fairy lights today. When I took down the tree I ended up with a horrific snarl of two sets of many lights, one of which was a tree net thing with lights falling from a ring at the top. I was tempted to just shove them in a bag and leave them for future me and kept trying to ignore where I'd left them on the couch. Last night I finally started the untangle, two hours last night, one hour this afternoon, a skinned patch on the side of my finger, and they're done. Victory is mine!
It's been a nicely productive day, really. Company first thing where I got a big bag of muti-coloured Chantenay carrots which I intend to roast over the coming week. A good Olio pickup where the blueberry muffins I'd requested had gone before my request, but when I picked up the lady said she'd put some extras in with my bread, and there were the muffins, cookies and a doughnut. I had a nice chat with another Olio lady who told me I was one of her regulars and to just pop into the safe place she keeps any unrequested in-date food and take what I want if I'm passing. Which I probably won't do often but it's nice to know it's an option.
My brother is here now fixing the loose wire in the kitchen lights that meant they kept going off and is also fixing the bathroom light pull which kept getting stuck meaning the light wouldn't go on. He's actually been up there for a while with James so goodness knows what they're plotting.
And ha, they're down now. Everything is fixed and it turns out they've been admiring James' drill in the spare bedroom. Apparently, Chris is able to fix the toilet too which has come loose against the floor on one side -- I swear, the whole house has been failing bit by bit. It's not an emergency and I won't hold my breath until he turns up, but at least I know he can do it.
I've got a Too Good to Go Subway rolls and cookie order to pick up tomorrow between 8:30 and 9, which will be perfect for James' bait when he goes back to work on Tuesday. Then it'll be home for my first Snowflake posting. I need to get caught up on my own responses to that. With James being off we've got a lot done but it has meant less online time.

All lights are fixed! Though it was annoying something that's been happening for months was done in such a short time. I love my brother and he's good at what he does, but he can be slow to turn up at times.
The drill admiration party must have been quite something *g*

Subway tgtg are tasty. I know you can get the sub roll dupes from Aldi now but they're still not as nice as the real thing.
