Minor frustration of the day. Our local council has been posting on social media lately, saying that the end of January was the last time they'd take side waste on bin collection day. As of now all wheelie bin lids must be flush and completely closed or they won't be emptied. My frustration is, I had no idea we actually could leave black bin bags as side rubbish before this. All this time taking excess black bags to the tip and I could have left them to the side on bin day.

So, this morning I was squishing down bags of rubbish in the wheelie bin and ensuring the lid goes down flush. When I was out earlier all other bins on the estate I passed had done the same except for one so it'll be interesting to see if that one gets emptied. And yes I know, this is the riveting content you read here for *g*

My MiL phoned the other day and gave me a shocked moment when she said my SiL is getting new windows fitted sometime in March so my MiL would have to come to stay here for three weeks. Then I realised she'd actually said three days and I could breathe again.

Like a few people on my flist, I'm watching The Last of Us and I'm enjoying it so much. I have no idea about the game so am going into it totally unspoiled, and that last episode? That I didn't expect, but oh so good.

I've also started watching Charlotte Crosby in Sunderland, not because I'm actually interested in Charlotte but mainly to see if they actually showed Sunderland because so often they say things are set in town and then scenes are shown in Newcastle or Durham. But nope, all Sunderland and so far she's been to the beach we go to, the parks we visit, the shops we go to and I'm turning stalker by trying to work out where her factory/workshop is based on the roads around it.

dine asked an interesting question the other day, what was the first fic you read on A03? So I checked history and it turns out mine was an HP fic by Arsenic. That I wasn't expecting at all because I don't read HP now and never have in the past. But, as Arsenic is one of my favourite writers all I can assume is back in the mists of time I'd looked her up first on AO3, and that was the fic that came up. After that result it's a mix of bandom, popslash and Leverage which sounds like me but that first result really was a surprise. Also, omg, so long ago. What is time?!

I tend to just natter on about my day, doubt I could change now *g* But I still need to know if that bin was emptied!

Three weeks would have been far too long. Two was too long last year and that was with a break in the middle. I actually suspect it may be less than three days as my MiL only really needs to be out of the way when they're doing the living areas.

Bins are SO IMPORTANT (and absolutely what I talk about most with my neighbours, the provision's been cut way, way down which I understand BUT. Anyway. Yes, totally here for it. Was the overflowing bin emptied?


and that last episode? That I didn't expect, but oh so good. You know where I'm at on this - it was just beautiful television and if it's not up for awards I shall be furious about it. I'm very, very glad it's an HBO show, they have a better history of givng series their space to be.

I totally agree, bins are important! Well, the bin was sort of emptied. It was given a bright yellow sticker of shame on the top and then the overflowing bin bags were put into the main bin once it was emptied. It's impossible to miss the yellow stickers and I know what happens to any overflow as Kayleigh got her own sticker of shame the day before. I wasn't actually going around and checking inside bins *g*

Such beautiful television and made even more powerful due to the simplicity of the scenes. So much was shown via such little detail. Surely awards have to happen.

That must have been a scare! At least it didn't last for long.

I looked at my history and I think I must have cleaned it out in 2013 because it only goes back that far while I've had my account since 2010. In any case my first story was one of the epilouge stories in Bexless Unholy 'verse.

Your first history story makes a lot of sense, and my first fic was in 2010 too so we must have both got accounts at the same time. I still can't believe mine is Harry Potter, that it's Arsenic, yeah, I totally get that, but HP not so much.
