Feb. 14th, 2023 02:53 pmI got mail from
misbegotten today and the timing was perfect for Valentine's day. Thank you again!
James went back to work today. His manager arranged for someone to come down when he arrives at work to get his wheelchair out of the car, and then do the same at home time. In between James will just push/pull himself around with his feet as the building is very easy access, it's just the lifting into and out the car that's an issue.
He's actually only at work two days and then, between his usual days off and carefully timed annual leave days has nearly a fortnight off, so hopefully will be fully back on his feet by the time he goes back.
I had letters to post this morning so had a walk into town and was back home again before 9am. I didn't stick around as despite it being sunny it's a bit nippy out there. I still hung a wash on the line though, not that I think it will fully dry, but anything helps to cut down tumbler time. I also tidied the garden a little, and managed to smash my last glass solar lantern. It was so pretty, but I caught it with a plank I was moving and of course, the globe shattered when it hit the path.
I also hauled lots of wood from the festival trolley to outside so they can dry. James bought himself the wood from a wood dealer place, but it came in huge chunks. So he asked if my brother could cut them, which Chris did on Sunday. So the huge chunks became multiple smaller chunks, which were heavy so needed to be taken from the car to our house via the festival trolley. Got them in, James tried to use the lathe on one, and they're still too damp. So, today I've taken them all outside to dry further.
James is producing some nice stuff. this is the second bowl he made, and one of his mushrooms. For some reason he loves making them, we're going to have a forest of them soon.
ETA: I don't think my link works so the photo is in the comments if anyone wants to see.
Changing the subject, I'm still loving The Last of Us, even if it does constantly play with my emotions and have been enjoying watching Extraordinary on Disney +. I love Jizzlord especially, he's a fun character.
And to end, if you celebrate Valentine's Day, I hope you enjoy/enjoyed it. I bought a Morrisons Valentine Meal Deal for tonight, though the starter was eaten yesterday, and bought James some Lindor eggs while I was out earlier. That's our usual celebration with Feb being so spendy birthdaywise.

Date: 2023-02-15 08:58 pm (UTC)What a shame you managed to destroy your pretty lantern!
You're getting so much use out of that trolley, yay!
The mushroom is so cute and the bowl is gorgeous! James clearly has a fabulous talent for woodwork.
A belated Happy Valentine's Day to you and James!

Date: 2023-02-16 04:21 pm (UTC)The solar lantern was beautiful and gave such lovely light. It was typical I didn't catch one of the many plastic ones out there.
The trolley has been a brilliant investment. It's so useful.
The bowl came out very well, he does enjoy woodwork, though it does make things a bit dusty in the craft room. So much so Kayleigh's moved all her stuff to Corey's old room now.
Thank you!

Date: 2023-02-15 11:42 pm (UTC)I've not heard of Extraordinary, but I've now popped it on my list :D. TLOU is such a rollercoaster (and I love it) - it's been a long time since I felt the need to yell at the tv....

Date: 2023-02-16 04:16 pm (UTC)Extraordinary caught my attention so well, I've just finished the last ep and now want more. As for TLOU, I often end up going, NOOOOO! WHY!!!! And yet keep watching, it's impossible not to.
