It looks like the fireworks are a bust. It's been snowing really hard for hours now, add in the gales and driving conditions are terrible, and as much as I like to see the fireworks I'm not about to risk our lives doing so.
As it is James has made a load of party food that we're picking at and I may have a few vodka and cranberry juices later. It's pretty much a perfect new years eve, just me and my two men, nibbles, possible yummy drinks and uninterrupted surfing. Which may sound boring to some but to me it's ideal.
My friend Jill phoned earlier and we talked a while, though all she kept saying about 2004 was I'd be turning 30 in a few weeks too *g* Man, old friends just think they have the right to rub things in. Just because she was 30 first, lol.
I've seen others do this, so a brief review of my year.
I went to a Trek con, met William Shatner, was flirted with by a waiter who told me to just get up and dance even though I felt so self conscious, and as a result ended up doing the Star Trekkin dance again with a bunch of mad trekkers. I was also insulted by a minor guest star at the con, which wasn't that nice.
In fannish terms I wrote my most popular story yet. The End. The feedback I got for that was amazing. Then I wrote Chapter 2, killed Simon and lost all my readers *g*
I started the Mutant X slash archive, which is still my baby despite it needing updating.
I moved my sites from Geocities to Populli and had to learn html, considering I didn't know any last year I think I've done great.
castalie and I started
sentinel_thurs something I'm incredibly proud of.
I'm still in TS and MX fandoms but have added another, popslash.
Popslash took over my brain. I moved from being a in the closet BSB fan to an out and proud popslasher.
And right now I'm having the most fun ever in this fandom.
I wrote my first sesa and reveled in being able to lust freely over the sdbs.
I decided that it was better to actually participate in LJ and not just lurk, and am slowly building up my flist with people I love and admire.
In the personal. James got a better paid job and we're slowly climbing out of the nightmare of debt we've been in for years.
My relationship with James is still strong after 13 years...eep! We fight like crazy most days but I love him loads and know he loves me.
I adore my son and I'd die for him in an instant. Corey has grown so much this last year. He's a young boy now, and sometimes I sit and wonder where my baby's gone. But he's grown into someone who's wonderful even though he can make me want to pull my hair out at times.
I've made some fantastic friends on here in the last year. My flist has old friends and new and I want to wish you all much happiness for the next year. I hope our friendship will grow because you people rock. All of you. You've helped so much over the last year and knowing there's always someone there with a hug or helpful words is fantastic. It's been my pleasure to know you all and I send much love to everyone of you.
But now.....
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
