I watched the final episode of Reginald the Vampire and was most put out that it ended on a mega cliffhanger. As soon as the credits rolled I went to check if it had been cancelled -- and saw it's getting a season two, yay! -- and also saw season one actually had ten episodes and Sky had only recorded nine. So, that's what I'll be watching later.

This morning I went to see 65 and enjoyed it so much more than I expected and more than most reviewers it seems, especially for a film with only a cast of four people, two of which only appear for a few minutes. But, I thought Adam Driver & Ariana Greenblatt were fantastic, and the time flew by. Though, that was helped by the running time only being 90 minutes, unlike the 3-hour epics that are more usual these days.

The morning was an up-and-down one. The buckle on James' leg snapped when I was fastening it, so he's wearing his spare leg. It took time to get the spare out of the hall cupboard and even when it was on, it was throwing his balance off a little due to not being configured exactly the same. They're supposed to be, but it's pretty much impossible to get them identical in all ways, so that difference was enough to make James' back hurt as he got used to it. So, no walk today.

Then he went to book tickets for the film and found out his Unlimited Card wasn't being recognised by the system. The free carer was still there, but not the Unlimited, which was a big issue as we do go to the cinema so often. So, he had to wait until the access line opened at 10am, where the adviser asked for his email, and when told it was a gmail one knew the issue instantly and said, try logging in again using googlemail. That did work, but you'd think such a big cinema chain wouldn't let issues like that happen.

But, the best news. We've been wanting to go see the touring production of The Lion King at the theatre. It starts at Sunderland this week but tickets went really fast, especially as we need end aisle seats. We'd resigned ourselves to not going, but on a whim, I was looking at the booking page first thing this morning and saw three sets of two tickets had been released, I imagine by people not able to go now. Between the free carer seat and the discounted accessibility seat, the price was really low, so we had to snap them up and now have centre aisle end seats, about six rows from the stage for opening night.

I'm envious that the accessibility seat is discounted - my experience in Australia has been that wheelchair accessible seats cost A LOT MORE than not-accessible seats, because they are close to the stage.

There are no wheelchair accessible seats not close to the stage, because stairs/steps.

I agree!

I've had shows where I've had to pay $$$ more for an accessible seat + a seat next to me for my partner

because the accessible seats were A reserve

and none of the B-reserve or C-reserve seats were accessible.

(I don't get a free companion seat - in Australia you only get a companion card if it is IMPOSSIBLE for you to go to the theatre alone; and also not all theatres recognise the companion card.)

So happy you got The Lion King tickets! I thought it was epic fun when I saw it last year.

Poor James. Good luck fixing his leg and working out the kinks with his spare one.

I'm sorry James has to make do with his spare. Hopefully, that will be remedied quickly.

Congrats on the Lion King tickets! When my mom's brothers, spouses and kids were here to celebrate my parent's 50th, my dad bought tickets for everyone (split up into three seating groups), and rented a bus-limo that picked us up at their house, took us to the play, then picked us up after the play, returning us home. I'm sure he spent a small fortune for all that, but I certainly did enjoy the show.

It sucks that James has to get used to the spare and it hurts his back.

Congrats on getting tickets for the Lion King!

Poor James! I hope you'll manage to get the buckle on his ordinary leg fixed asap so he don't have to use the spare longer than absolutely necessary *sends lots of good thoughts*

I totally agree, a big chain shouldn't let a known problem like that go unfixed!

That's so awesome you managed to get tickets to the Lion King!! I hope you'll enjoy yourself enormously!
