Mar. 20th, 2023 02:54 pmKayleigh, Lucy and Bodhi are heading to Lanzarote today, landing about now actually, so I'm on cat-sitting duty.
Plan is, James will drop me off at their house on the way to work, I'll feed the cats and do anything else that needs doing, then walk home. Doing so means walking past my brother's house, I wonder if he'd mind a few early morning visits *g*
Then, on the night James will pick me up again when he's finished work and we'll both go do the evening feeds, close curtains etc. Typically Megan is on antibiotics atm, so I'll need to pill her twice a day, too.
I met Kayleigh and Lucy for a coffee yesterday to finalise plans, and all seemed well then. But later Kayleigh was messaging saying she didn't really want to go. Hopefully, it was just the stress of having to arrange everything for Bodhi and that it was Mother's Day yesterday, which is always a bit of a down day. Plus, Bodhi got her appointment date for her op to remove the cyst under her tongue and no doubt that's playing on their minds.
Earlier, they sent me some lovely photos of Bodhi watching the planes out of the departure lounge windows, so fingers crossed, once they're actually at the hotel and settled, Kayleigh can relax a bit.
I have to admit, I wish I was going with them. I could do with some sun and beach time.

Date: 2023-03-20 05:06 pm (UTC)I keep laughing imagining my brother's face if I randomly knocked on his door for a coffee before 8am. Maybe he'd give me a lift home in the back of his work van *g*

Date: 2023-03-21 07:17 am (UTC)Then I get on the plane and I'm like, "oh right, this is fine, actually."
Yeah, that sounds like Kayleigh. I was talking to her last night and the start of the journey was extra stessy as they were late and made the gate with literally seconds to spare. So I bet she sighed with relief once she was sitting down in her seat.

Date: 2023-03-21 08:59 pm (UTC)You should totally say hi to your brother when you pass his house :-) Good luck with the cat sitting in general and the cat pilling in particular!
More sun is never wrong but I much prefer a Scandinavian spring to Canary beaches. Yes, I know I'm strange ;-D

While I've never experienced it, I'm sure a Scandinavian spring is beautiful too. Right now I'm looking forward to any spring, it was below freezing last night. I couldn't even open my bins first thing as the lids had frozen closed.
