I said I'd post some photos, so behind the cut are some photos from Camp Sparkle. I only stayed from Friday to Sunday but in that time I got to go visit Sizergh, go for an excellent afternoon tea, eat good food, laugh lots and most importantly, meet up and hug good friends I hadn't seen for a very long time.
The house we were staying in was beautiful, and this was our bedroom, it had views over the countryside from two windows and waking up to those views was amazing.

We drove past this viaduct on the way home. Other Campers had visited it earlier in the weekend but I can't actually remember its name. It was very striking though.

The view from outside the house we stayed in. We were the first to arrive and I spent ages walking around the house and garden and just thinking, wow. Sadly it rained the days I was there so I didn't get to eat outside on the big garden table as that would have been excellent.

One of the photos I took at Sizergh. It was such a nice size of National Trust property with gorgeous gardens and house to look around.

The other view from the bedroom. I always keep the bedroom curtains open so that view was the first thing I saw when I opened my eyes.

Ridiculous face alert! But how could I not so happy when I was meeting with Bernhard again? I hadn't seen him in person for a long time, too.

The living room in the house where I got to kick back and put my feet up.

A fat rascal! On the way to Camp, we stopped at Harrogate to break the journey up at Betty's, a well-known tea shop, for a coffee and snack. We got a gooey rascal while there and also a box of fat rascals to share at Camp. I didn't know about the cheeky little rascals at the time or I would have wanted a box of those, too.

So yes, it was an excellent weekend, and while Camp has changed, going from a popslash focus and most Campers staying up to the wee early hours downing pixie stix, to something much more far-ranging fannish wise and many people, including me, being early to bed, early to rise, it has also kept it's heart. Which is a group of friends who like and respect each other very much and enjoy time together despite usually living very different lives. But one thing that didn't change, I ended up wearing a plastic tiara and sparkly sticks in my hair yet again and the Juppy apron was used.
As it always should be :D

That's the Ribbleshead Viaduct. It's so cool and I wish the weather Thursday morning hadn't been rainy enough that we decided to not take the train trip we'd planned. (We had a very nice day anyway!)
The photo from Sizergh is beautiful!
The photo of you and Bernhard is adorable!
Yeah, many things about Camp has changed over the years but the most important thing is still the same - we're a group of people who really like vacationing together!

Brilliant, thanks for letting me know. Saba was telling me about it and showed some photos but I just couldn't remember the name. It was a surprise seeing it on the way home. I had no idea we would pass it. That's a shame about the train trip. What did you all do instead? Was that the day you all stayed in Settle?

Exactly. I like thinking about past Camps, and the people who attended them. Some only once, others multiple times. There were some big misses this year. But, hopefully, more people will be able to attend next year. Including you ♥
