Jul. 17th, 2023 04:12 pmPauline gave me a steam mop a while back. It was almost brand new but she couldn't use it easily. I tried it today and I can see why, it's hard to push along the floor, though does a great job so I persevered. But the click off-hand steam mop bit is brilliant. I've been spot steam cleaning like crazy and it's very satisfying to see the grime get blasted away. Yes, I know, I am that sad.
These last few weeks I've been catching up on some tv and watched the last episode of Batwoman a few days ago. A while ago
spikedluv said to say what I thought when I watched, so
I have to say, I liked season three so much better than season two. I know the writers had to deal with the huge cast change which meant Kate suddenly disappearing, but to me, there was just too much Kate focus in the second season. Where had Kate gone, was she dead? Was she alive? She was found, not found, changed faces, how the team dealt with not having her around, then having her around, and then gone again. How her dad coped, how her sister coped, it was just all Kate all the time and while I get why, I felt it didn't allow Ryan the chance to shine as the new Batwoman and she did shine, along with times she made mistakes and had failures, which made a lot of sense to me..
Then season three started and things got so much better, the Bat Team of Ryan, Mary, Luke, Sophie and occasionally, Alice, really worked together well, giving them all a chance to shine. I also liked how some old familiar villains were introduced in this season, along with interesting new characters, and that Alice realised she wanted to change and also that she was even more of a fully formed character in her own right, not just Kate's twin/villain. I also liked that Ryan and Sophie ended up together with a very nice slow burn.
So yeah, I'm glad I kept going to watch all the episodes and was sad knowing the show had been cancelled just when it seemed to be finding its feet again.
Now we've moved on to catching up on Chicago Med, we binge-watched last season and just started the first episode of the latest season last night. It's a show I like watching, but that often comes along with watching and thinking, OMG, Will, what are you doing now? He gets into some ridiculous situations.
I took a photo of Murphy and Milo together earlier. 19 years between them, but size-wise, Murphy is very much the big brother now.

Date: 2023-07-18 11:53 am (UTC)Do you think you'll ever watch the new seasons or will it be, too little time, too many shows, situation? Which is a situation I know very well.
The steam mop can be used on carpets too, though I haven't tried that yet. I'll have to try it on the runner in the hall, which gets very grimy due to being at the front door.

I've been thinking about getting a steam mop, because I hate mopping and I was wondering if it would improve my mopping rate. Is it a faff to get it ready to use?

Date: 2023-07-19 01:59 pm (UTC)I was given this steam mop and it's not a faff to get ready to use at all. The tank pops off the unit easily, then it's a case of unscrewing the stopper, filling the tank with water, stopper back and you're ready to snap the tank back into the holder. Then it's a case of waiting 30 seconds for the steam to start and then you're ready to go.
The only faff I had was getting the floor cloth attached securely on the mop head. But that was because I hadn't secured it tight enough so when I started to actually mop the cloth was pulled off. I mainly wanted to use it to clean around the litter trays, and it was perfect for that. And I still love using the hand unit to blast things with steam. That's very satisfying.
So yeah, I recommend it. It doesn't make mopping floors any less boring, but does make it faster, which is a big plus.
