Sep. 8th, 2023 09:19 amIt's not often I hear Nsync songs played on my local radio, so when Bye Bye Bye came on I stopped to listen, then heard the DJ say Nsync are reuniting with a new song for the new Trolls film. And what? How did I not know this? I quickly Googled and it seems there are a lot of rumours which seem very plausible. That is not what I was expecting to learn today and apparently, I've been oblivious to any sparkly dancing boys hints and rumours lately.
I've had a window feeder on the window next to my desk for years now, and for the first time today, a group of blue tits are using it, and driving Murphy insane at the same time. He's been on high alert and twitching to jump for almost half an hour now.
I had a nice day yesterday, Toby Carvery had an offer on for £5 meals so we took advantage, thankfully booking a table as the place was packed. Then after that went to Mog on the Tyne and had another excellent visit. They have a new cat called Peter and he's adorable. The difference between the youngster and the older more placid cafe cats was marked, and I enjoyed watching him dart through the tunnels.
Pauline didn't feel well on Tuesday so changed our lunch to Wednesday. Again she made some delicious food, pasta and vegetable bake with what seemed like a whole block of cheese in it, plus garlic bread. Then for afters, hot sponge pudding and custard. Like I said, delicious, but I was sweating cogs after eating as we're right in the middle of the mini heat waves.
And in things I only learned today, I just looked up that phrase and it's actually sweating cobs, apparently I've been saying it wrong all of my life.
I did get asked to take the golf clubs and man, they were heavy. Thankfully, Chris was in when I phoned to say I had them so I could take them straight to his and he said dad had overloaded the bag, and too right had he. I could barely get the thing on my shoulder.
I know I said the same thing last year, but the Great Christmas movie channel has started and will be on now until January, and just, even as a Christmas/Christmas film lover, too soon! I'll still watch, though
And now as the blue tits have gone, I need to hang out the washing. I didn't want to before as I would have disturbed the birds.

Date: 2023-09-08 11:55 am (UTC)Nice deal on the meal! Followed by kitties! What could be better?
I'm glad you had a nice meal with Pauline. And you were right about the golf clubs!
I wonder if Christmas movies have already started on Hallmark? I thought it was October, and even that's early!

Date: 2023-09-08 03:40 pm (UTC)The meal was delicious, so much so when James finished work I met him, and we went to do it again. It was the last day of the £5 voucher and I knew we'd come home with leftovers, so wins all around.
I knew she had some motives about the golf clubs. She just casually mentioned that I shouldn't forget them when I left, and all I could think was, I was never asked to take them *g*
September is ridiculously early to start a dedicated Christmas channel. I'm with you, even October is pushing it, but yeah, first of September and there the channel was.

Date: 2023-09-09 12:08 pm (UTC)Yay for getting to enjoy the deal twice!
LOL but also I hate when people do that. Pip is forever doing the 'don't forget' and I'm like, how can I 'forget' when I never knew in the first place?!! o_O
Hallmark is not starting up in September (though to be fair, they are airing a couple older Christmas movies, maybe to get people in the mood?).

I know, right!?

Date: 2023-09-08 04:52 pm (UTC)I am amazed at that NSYNC rumour - but won't it be terrific if true?

Date: 2023-09-08 05:05 pm (UTC)I really hope it is true. I know most of the group have said at one point or another they'd sing together again, but Justin has always seemed the holdout. But as he's part of Trolls anyway, who knows? That damn hiatus may actually end again!

Date: 2023-09-08 05:08 pm (UTC)Yeah, I'm a huge Christmas fan and every year I enjoy the Christmas in July films that are broadcast. But having a whole movie channel dedicated to Christmas films start on the 1st of September is just too early. I mean, this last week has been hot, more like high summer than Christmas time.

Date: 2023-09-09 05:45 am (UTC)And that's a relief that you were able to pass on the golf clubs right away and didn't have to store them! I guess this is why people hire caddies to haul their gear around.

Date: 2023-09-09 12:35 pm (UTC)Birdwatching out the window always reminds me of Mom. What birds or squirrels were doing was one of her favorite topics of discussion when I did my daily call.
Enjoy the extended holiday season. *g*

Date: 2023-09-11 12:20 pm (UTC)That's a nice memory to have of your mom. I think I'd like to see squirrels in the garden, though from posts I've seen they can be pests too.
The way they're going the holiday season will start in July soon!

Date: 2023-09-09 02:47 pm (UTC)I did recently see Joey on a clip for the movie My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3. Although he tends to have a super small role in those films, it's still good to see him.
Lennon loved sitting by the sliding glass door and chattering at the birds. I miss that. He's the only cat I've had (out of 11 since I was a kid, including family cats) that really did the chattering thing. I miss him more than I thought I would. Ozzie occasionally looks outside, but not often. While Chaser enjoys sleeping next to the sliding glass door, I believe it's more to soak up the sun than birdwatch.
Ha! I think Murphy would have loved for you to bring Peter home. *G*. I'm afraid if I went to a cat cafe, I'd want to bring them all home!
Glad you had a nice lunch with Pauline.
I had a boss once who always said 'nip it in the butt' and I finally told him, the saying is actually, 'nip it in the bud'. Not sure he changed how he said it as he pretty much stopped using the phrase altogerther after that. LOL

Date: 2023-09-11 12:24 pm (UTC)That's very true. I'd love to hear something new, or even see them all together again.
I actually went to see My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3 at the weekend and yeah, it's good to see Joey. I like he still gets those roles and is apparently still enjoying what he's doing.
I totally get missing them more than you thought you would. It's always the little things that tend to remind you the most, too. I think the only chatterer I've had was Freesia, who used to love to sit and watch the birds while chattering. I'm surprised any came close the noise she made.

Glad it's not just me. I love that version of the phrase, and it makes sense *g*

Date: 2023-09-10 06:29 pm (UTC)Murphy should be very grateful he now have a working cat telly! Blue tits are so cute and perky, I love them.
Your visit to the cat cafe sounds awesome as usual. And so does your lunch at Pauline's! Though, yeah, probably not the best food for a heatwave.
Oh yes, golf clubs are ridiculously heavy! My dad played golf for a while back in the 80s and I well remember how heavy his bag was.
Indeed, FAR TOO SOON for Christmas movies!

Date: 2023-09-11 10:59 am (UTC)The blue tits are amazing. A big group of them come together and sort of take over the garden. It was the first time I've seen them in the window feeder but they tend to love the honeysuckle bush. So they arrive together, hang for about an hour, then take off again. Then Murphy can relax.
Pauline loves her comfort food, but it wasn't the best choice the other day. But yeah, Mog was great as always.

Glad it's not just me being a weakling! It was the first time I've tried to carry any and I really was surprised at the weight. How people carry them for so long I don't know.
Far too soon for the dedicated channel!

Date: 2023-09-11 11:34 am (UTC)But I am glad I came late to the teasing, so shouldn't have that long to wait. It seems to be something a lot of groups/bands/singers do now, and it does get frustrating.
