Something I've never had before. Someone left a nice comment on one of my bandom stories and when I went to reply they'd deleted it. It wasn't a story that should be an issue – it was an old picfor1000 with Mikey and Gerard talking about The Muppets and hair dying, standard Way bro gen from me. And I went to reply within a day, so who knows what went on there.
I've written another fill for fandomgiftbasket and got the beta back already. It's a new to me writing fandom and I had fun with it, so hopefully the recipient likes it too. The reveals have been pushed back a week to try and fill all the baskets, so I'll have a look later, see if anything else catches my eye.
I'd say for the last few days 95% of my conversations with people have involved the weather, and the 5% that weren't I was talking to Bodhi. Which is, man, it's been hot.
Saturday, we booked tickets to see My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3, simply to get into the air con at the hottest part of the day. The film was okay, very easy watching and predictable, but that and an iced coffee hit the spot nicely. Then after leaving there, we hung out with Kayleigh and Bodhi in their garden until early evening. I got to play with water and stickers and tried to catch butterflies with fishing nets – spoiler, no butterflies were even close, what we did catch were abandoned toys in the long grass.
Yesterday I met them both again, as well as more friends for coffee before going grocery shopping and picking up a salad for lunch. Normally we'd go to the coast for a walk too, but it was the Great North Run half-marathon which is a huge event that ends along the coast road, so knew we'd never get close. So, that was out. But just as well as I had a backlog of James' work shirts to iron.
Then on the night there was a fantastic storm. It didn't last long, but the thunder and lightening was really loud and bright, complete with heavy downpours. I'd like to say it broke the heat, but nope. Apparently it's going to drop from high 20s to around 16 from tomorrow, then no doubt all my conversations will be about how chilly it's getting.

Date: 2023-09-11 12:44 pm (UTC)How is it that it rarely seems truly comfortable? Around here, it seems like we get four types of weather:
Too hot, too cold, too rainy and too windy! LOL

Date: 2023-09-11 07:00 pm (UTC)The temps haven't been bad this week, but the humidity! I hope your temps drop soon.
Yay for AC, iced coffee and seeing Kayleigh and Bodhi, at least!

Date: 2023-09-12 07:29 am (UTC)Oh, the humidity has been terrible lately. It's so much cooler today, and apparently will still be sunny later, so it should be a pretty nice day.

All great things!

Date: 2023-09-12 02:07 pm (UTC)Yeah, that's always the issue. I love autumn, but it's always followed by winter and horribly cold days and nights, and then slippery snow. And we don't even get anywhere near the amount of snow you do.

Date: 2023-09-12 06:16 am (UTC)It'll be a milestone when Bodhi starts taking an interest in the weather too!

Date: 2023-09-12 07:27 am (UTC)Ahahaha, yeah, give her a few years and I'm sure she'll be discussing heat levels and complaining it's too hot, too cold, too wet etc too.

It was still ickily humid and warm here yesterday but today it's finally cooler and the rain midday seems to have washed away a lot of the humidity. Hopefully your weather has also become more seasonal *keeps fingers crossed*

Yeah, the weather is much more autumnlike now. Sunny, still warmish in the sun, but with a chill at night.

Date: 2023-09-18 12:54 pm (UTC)We have very involved conversations based around stickers -- it's her thing, she loves them, we buy them for her, she sticks them everywhere including James' leg. Also, about the bears and tigers that live in the hedge at her house *g*
