Sep. 26th, 2023 12:41 pmBodhi gets christened on Saturday and Kayleigh has come down with an infected wisdom tooth, so I suspect she'll be looking like a lopsided chipmunk at the weekend.
The christening has been doomed from the start, none of our family are actually religious but Lucy wants Bodes to go to a Catholic school, therefore, she needs to be christened. But, it's already been postponed once, then Lucy has fallen out with all of her sisters, meaning she's had two different sisters as godmother, but both have dropped out, and now her brother is going to be godfather. So it looks like the ceremony will happen, with no meal or anything afterwards, which is a shame.
Good things, I enjoyed Strictly so much on Saturday and may have watched Nikita and Layton's Samba a ridiculous amount of times, for a week one dance it's great and I love the samba rolls --- I say as if I know anything about dance at all. I also enjoyed Nigel's Paso Doble, because I do like a bit of cape wafting.
Really, TV is pretty good right now and will keep getting better. New Bake Off very soon, new Ghosts, though the last season which is sad, new Brassic, and my own I still can't believe I love that show, new Celebrity SAS, Who Dares Win. Matt Hancock is one of the so-called celebs and I want to see him be destroyed, ground in the mud and hopefully cry. The utter slimy weasel that he is.
Other good things, I got a very decent Too Good to Go bag from the local garage last Saturday. I saw three bags pop up when we were on the way home from the craft fair, with an immediate pickup time, so decided to grab one hoping there would be something easy for tea as we were both tired. And struck gold with four decent sandwiches, a still hot four cheese toastie, fruit pots, cocktail sausages, two ready meals, actual sausages, yoghurt, bread, and a random cinnamon roll. So no cooking for me that night.
It's Pauline's birthday today, so we're taking her out to lunch tomorrow when James is off. We're also taking my sort of but not legally step-sister to her pre-op first, so it'll be nice to spend time together. Though, the weather forecast is really bad for tomorrow and Pauline is worried about flooding, which is something that often happens at her house due to bad drains. I did offer to still take M to her appointment then take Pauline out later, but she said no, so I suspect we'll just have a fast lunch and will hopefully be home before the rain starts.

that Too Good to Go bag sounds super! what a terrific haul - and no dinner cooking! you definitely scored

Date: 2023-09-28 04:11 pm (UTC)Matt got punched in the face, I liked that. He was the health minister at the time of Covid and made some very questionable decisions that I still hold against him, and seeing him on the show didn't reverse that. In fact, him trying to excuse himself made me dislike him even more.
It was such a good bag, and saved me cooking, which yeah, is always a plus.

Date: 2023-09-26 05:21 pm (UTC)I only needed to see that Matt Hancock was a politician to believe he deserves to be destroyed. (Also, I saw a headline about the show and thought to myself, bet he's lying about that. Just because you don't like him, lol! It's something a weasel would do. *g*)
That Too Good To Go bag sounds amazing all around! So much yum, and you didn't have to make your own meal! (In my book, that's the most important, lol!)
I hope the pre-op appointment and lunch go well and there is no flooding!

Date: 2023-09-28 04:01 pm (UTC)Matt Hancock is a total weasel and seeing him on the show made me dislike him even more as he tried to lie about why it was okay he was kissing his mistress while everyone else was made to stay apart. I mean, he did a lot I disliked but in terms of being caught kissing her and the fact we were all supposed to stay in bubbles at the time, he was married, the cheating scum. I liked how one of the instructors introduced him saying this is Matt Hancock, the Han is silent. I also liked seeing him get punched in the face.
It was such a good Too Good to Go bag, and just what I needed after what was a long day.

Date: 2023-09-28 03:56 pm (UTC)I had so much satisfaction seeing Matt Hancock get punched in the face and shoved in a lake. Then the slimy scum had the audacity to sit in the interrogation and say he'd fallen in love and hadn't actually broken any laws when he met up and kissed his mistress, as the rules were guidance, not laws. And screw him, let him tell that to the thousands of people kept away from loved ones dying or having to sit apart in funerals or stick to stupid bubbles. He's a weasel, and I don't know what he's hoping to achieve by going on these reality shows because I ended up disliking him even more after watching.

And I hope you have a good lunch and don't get caught in the rain.

That was a big plus, I enjoyed my couch picnic.
And we did have a good lunch and avoided the rain.

Date: 2023-10-09 04:10 pm (UTC)It was such a good bag. They don't get listed that often so I have to keep an eye out, but I haven't had a bad bag from there yet.
