Some sad kitty news, not mine
Kayleigh had to have one of her cats, Sun pts yesterday. She always called him her Spare Cat, as he'd been abandoned by his owner and had lived in Kayleigh's garden for the eight years since. Kayleigh managed to track down the owner but they refused to take Sun back, so she bought him outside insulated houses, got him chipped and insured and while he was too much of a wandered to come inside for good, spent extra cold times inside and the rest living his best life in the garden. He'll be a miss with his pom pom head and loud yowl.
James had a good time with the therapy dog. I wasn't sure how it would actually work, would the dog sit at his desk for a while or something else. But what happened was for the booked time James could come off the phones, and he got to hang with the dog and its handler, give strokes and treats, and he said he ended up talking about lots of things without thinking about it as he was distracted by having the dog there. At which point I realised exactly how that therapy dog worked.

I love how he was wagging his tail so much, it was nothing but a blur.

I was just reading that Popeyes is going to open a drive thru in Sunderland, right next to the Asda where I get my shopping. This will be the second one in the north-east so they must be doing a slow expansion plan in the area. I've been to the one at Metrocentre once, and it was okay, nothing that really made me want to go back again immediately.
I do wonder if that makes it a contender for the fast food place that will be in the new retail park along the road. They still haven't announced who has secured the space yet, just that it's going to have a drive through, though I suspect it'll be one of the more common places like Burger King or McDonald's, or better still, Starbucks.
I was talking to Corey last night as my MiL wanted to know what to get him for Christmas, and he'd mentioned before that he doesn't want more alcohol as he got loads of spirits last year and still has all but one left. He does drink, but not in his flat, so it just gets wasted, which is a shame. He suggested more Judge Dredd books and Lindor chocolate, so those should be easy to get. I also got to tease him a little as he's off to a Halloween house party on Saturday and said he'd taken the whole weekend off, so obviously plans to spend Sunday hanging. To which I think, why not, he works really hard, he should get to blow off some steam sometimes. He still got some mam teasing, though *g*

I hope you get a good fast food place that you like at the new retail park.

You know the stupid thing? I probably won't even go to the fast food place often when it opens, I just want to know what it will be.

Date: 2023-10-27 06:22 pm (UTC)Henry looks like a perfect therapy dog. Just looking at him makes me feel relaxed and like I want to scritch his chin and give him a hug.
Sounds like Corey's planning to have a nice and relaxing Halloween weekend which I'm sure he more than deserves. Which of course shouldn't keep you from teasing him - I'm sure that's written into the rules about being a mam :-)

As for Corey, apparently he enjoyed his party, and his Sunday to recover *g*
