Nov. 14th, 2023 04:05 pmSo Mikey posted this insta post about MCR performing with FOB at the When We Were Young festival next year, and Gabe commented 'my two dads!!' and Josh Madden that it was Sweet Little Dudes, the next chapter, and I mean, come on, what are they trying to do to me? Talk about throwing a person back to the Summer of Like fannish past.
Which reminds me, when I was at the cinema on Saturday I nipped to the toilet and when I came back James was talking to the Costa barista who had the MCR spider as a tattoo. Said barista seemed a little taken aback when we talked about going to see them in concert and being fans. Though why I'm not sure as a lot of their fans will be older now. I should have wagged my finger in his face and told him I was enjoying their music when he was in nappies, the young whippersnapper!
dine just reminded me that
holiday_wishes is coming up, so go give that a look if you want to potentially spread some holiday cheer and post your own wishlist.
Babysitting went well yesterday, and included a very enthusiastic pillow fight, a few instances of "dance, Terri, dance!" and many instances of playing pretend with a plastic lion and giraffe.
I had plans for an early bath tonight, but Kayleigh messaged saying both she and Lucy are on sleep in shifts so could I go check the cats tonight. I said yes, so James will pick me up after work and I'll go feed them etc. I could have my early bath and go up wearing pjs, I've done that plenty of times before as you can park directly outside of her house. But that's not so appealing in the cold.
Pauline was asking if we'd do the usual Christmas meal with my brother, nephew, and niece. She's thinking we'd go to her usual favourite pub and get the festive menu like the last few years. My brother texted me back saying yeah, he'd like to go, but could we go somewhere with actual good grub. I know he hasn't been impressed with the food the last few times, especially as my niece and nephew aren't into the choices, so I'm not surprised he wants to go elsewhere. Hopefully, Pauline won't be too put out as she does love that place. And of course, it means I have to find a place that suits everyone.

Date: 2023-11-14 05:44 pm (UTC)your brother's approach certainly isn't the best - if Pauline's fave place doesn't suit him, maybe *he* can come up with an alternative or two?

Date: 2023-12-19 03:16 pm (UTC)Exactly! Sadly I've found some fans think in a really narrow fashion and don't realise all ages of people can enjoy the same group. What was extra funny was considering the ages of MCR now, I'm much closer to them in age than the barista seemed to be.

Date: 2023-11-15 02:38 am (UTC)MCR is for all of us.
I hope the Christmas planning won't cost you too many headaches and you get to enjoy wherever you end up going.

Date: 2023-11-19 08:11 pm (UTC)Sounds Bodhi sitting is now your new work-out routine :-)
I agree with dine, since he's the one that don't like the current place your brother should be the one to find a better one. In any case, I hope you'll have a nice Christmas meal whereever you end up going.

I actually agree too, but know he'd never sort anything out and we'd end up missing out completely.
