Nov. 27th, 2023 02:11 pmWe did the first Christmas craft fair on Saturday, not the best one we've ever done, but not the worst either. Having to be there for 8:30 did mean an early start though, which was fine as it meant I got to see views like

Most of the issue in terms of sales were we had our stall next to two other pyrography stalls. So even though James has diversified with his wood turning, there was still a bit of over saturating going on, considering three of the six selling stalls had pyrography stuff for sale. Plus, we'd taken our own table as we didn't know if they were provided. They had been, but James asked if we could use ours too as there was plenty of space to spread out. They said yes, then charged for two stalls at the end. Understandable really so it was fair to the other sellers, but I would have preferred to bunch stuff up and keep the extra £15.
Going home I had to call at the shop and my second-oldest niece was on the till. She's just started her job there so we had a quick chat, and she was saying how she'd seen my earlier posts on Insta and wished she could do cool stuff too as all she does is go to college, work and look at TikTok videos. And really, we'd spent the day at a craft fair and had called to get jam to go with the scones we'd bought to eat as a picnic tea while watching Strictly. We are not cool.
Talking of. Strictly. Gah. I'm not embedding Layton and Nikita's video as it wasn't my favourite dance of theirs, but it's worth a look if only to see their outfits. Between Layton's pink skirt/trousers and Nikita's green pussy bow I didn't know where to look first. But, time to forget this dance, bring on musical week!
Kevin arrives tomorrow morning, so be warned for upcoming kitty spam by tomorrow night. At least, I hope so, and that he doesn't go and hide under the couch or something.
Talking of again, I'm catching up on DW and hit one of
dine 's posts and she mentioned BSB The Call video and oh man, that's one of the videos I always end up watching over and over when I'm reminded of it as I love the song. But also, to me they're all at peak hotness, especially Kevin in his awesome outfit and excellent hair and yes, another rewatch I think.
Also, for dine who indulges my love of Christmas adverts. I don't know how I missed it earlier, but I saw the full advert for Tesco at the weekend and I'm not going to lie, the ending hit me right in the feels, mainly because it reminded me of me, James and Corey when he was an older teen.
I had a Mutant X dream last night, which would have been nothing unusual years back when it was one of my main fandoms, but unusual now. But, I suspect watching Victor Webster in a Christmas film yesterday was enough to lodge the show in my mind. He's aged nicely I must say, even when he's baking cookies and not blasting people with his mutant powers.

Date: 2023-11-27 04:35 pm (UTC)Bummer about the placement at the craft fair. And the fact they didn't tell you beforehand it would cost more to use your own table.
We are not cool, lol! Apparently you do lead exciting lives.
I've recently seen a movie with Victor Webster in it, too!! (I was surprised to discover that he was in Days of Our Lives back in the day. Especially since he played opposite Allison Sweeney in a movie I watched (The Wedding Veil trilogy)!)

Date: 2023-11-27 05:39 pm (UTC)Yeah, the paying more to use our own table was a surprise. I do understand why, but like I said in the post, we could have coped with the smaller space. While it was nice to spread out it wasn't double the price nice.
Not cool at all! *g*
Was it the movie where they were looking for the stolen Christmas cookie recipe? Actually, I just went to look for the title, which was A Christmas Cookie Catastrophe, and saw he's been in a load of Hallmark films, including Christmas ones. I need to watch out for the others.

Date: 2023-11-27 05:59 pm (UTC)Kevin! I will always see Minions when I hear the name Kevin. But that's okay. I call my cats, 'my little minions' from time to time.
I'm so glad you finally get to bring him home. I can't wait to hear how he and Murphy get along. *G*

Kevin is probably more like a Minion, one that causes chaos!

Date: 2023-11-28 04:47 am (UTC)That's a pity that the fair didn't have more variety, and better communication about what they were going to charge. Still, congrats on making some customers happy!
The Call video is such a classic!! The plot! the drama!

Yeah. There's actually a craft fair held monthly in our town which would be perfect for James to attend. But, he can't get a table as there is already another wood/pyrograher with a stall. This show why not doubling up is a good decision.

It really is!

Ahahahah. I still debate that!
