I've enjoyed the last few days.
Christmas dinner was delicious, though due to Kayleigh, Lucy and Bodhi turning up just as I was serving, the Yorkshire puddings were more Yorkshire splats after deflating before we ate. But, rather a visit from them than perfect yorkies.
James picked Corey up late Christmas morning, and he went home late afternoon yesterday. He also did his yearly Boxing Day tradition of helping me sort out the fridge and freezer cupboard, which is really helpful for the shelves I can't see easily. He also took home a couple of bags of groceries, so the space looks much tidier now.
Corey enjoyed meeting Kevin, and I have the most adorable photo of Kevin sleeping on Corey's chest when he had a nap on the couch. In fact, on Christmas day, both cats, Corey and James had an afternoon nap while I relaxed and watched some TV.
I got some lovely presents, and am now well stocked up on Lush stuff again, and was up early enough yesterday I could nab some more stuff in their Boxing Day sale. I was especially pleased to get my Karma perfume, as I've worn it daily for years now, but had run out a few months ago and didn't feel right without it.
Thank you to the people who sent presents,
pensnest,
nopseud,
turlough, and cards. I got a pile of soggy cards delivered this morning that I'm letting dry a little before attempting to get them out of the envelopes, so individual thanks for those will come later.
I still have a lot of the Christmas specials to watch but have seen festive Pottery Throwdown, the Candycane Lane film on Amazon, and watched the last ever Ghosts. I've seen that twice now and have to admit much preferred the ending on a second watch. Still to watch, Bake Off, Doctor Who, Call the Midwife, Strictly and All Creatures Great and Small.
The cats actually got presents, but preferred a Primark bag.

As suggested by the soggy cards, it's raining heavily today, so I intend to stay in and get the house tidied up, and give the floors a badly needed hoover. I've also got lots of books I'm eager to get into, but before that, tidying then a catch-up on here.

Date: 2023-12-28 07:51 am (UTC)Normally no. Mostly people make small ones that get put onto a roast dinner, or if they want to be fancy, big versions that you can put the dinner inside. But, I do know someone people who eat them as desserts with jam on, though have never tried that myself.
Kevin loved Corey. I was glad they got on because as loving as he is to me, Murphy is very skittish around other people, so it was nice for Corey to have a cat who actually sat on his knee and wanted to be close.

that's a great picture of Kevin and Corey (though I still cannot believe that's really him)

Just a bit different to the first one I ever posted of him on LJ. In that one he was going to infant school wearing his little yellow Easter bonnet with chicks and flowers on it *g*

Date: 2023-12-27 08:55 pm (UTC)Cats are so contrary - always prefering to play with something that is decidely NOT a cat toy :-)
Aww, the photo of Kevin and Cory is so sweet.
We had lovely sunny weather today but it looks like the bad weather will reach us tomorrow. We're having the knit'n'natter at my sister's tomorrow so I hope it won't rain quite so heavily here *keeps fingers crossed*

Date: 2023-12-28 07:44 am (UTC)The cats loved that bag, they were inside it, outside it, sitting on it. Contrary is right.
Kevin really liked Corey, and it was so sweet when they had a nap together.
I hope the heavy rain keeps away for you. It didn't stop at all here yesterday and I was very glad I didn't need to go out.

Date: 2023-12-29 05:11 pm (UTC)Kevin doesn't look so tiny when he's alone in a photo, but next to Murphy and Corey, gosh he looks so small! Still a cutie pie, but a teeny tiny one. *G*

Kevin really is a small cat. Though, I suspect next to Murphy any cat would look small *g*

Date: 2024-01-04 07:36 am (UTC)Posting pictures of Corey will always remind me of the first I posted of him when he was in infant school. That really brings time home.
