We went to see Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom on New Year's Eve morning.
Was it that good? Nope, but sometimes all you want to see are a lot of pretty special effects and Jason Momoa chewing up the scenery, and that, he was brilliant at.

romantical, thank you so much!
James' appointment was cancelled on Friday night, but they gave him one on Saturday morning instead, and he's now using a steroid cream that's working well. In that, the itch has gone, but he still has big patches of deep pink skin.
All my decorations are down now. Though as usual it's spot the one that got left behind. Usually it's something small, but this time I managed to leave an angel hanging in the window, and a full garland along the top of the kitchen cupboards.
Snowflake Challenge has started, which means my flist has exploded, which is great but also takes a bit of getting used to at first. I haven't done the first challenge myself, but when looking at my user info noticed my Frank/Mikey banner had been deleted. It was hosted at Photobucket and as I'm not paying for the service, they've been threatening to delete my accounts for a while, and now they have. So, goodbye Frank/Mikey banner, you kept my user info looking lovely for many years.
I just got a phone call from the weight management team
First a small niggle, the lady was using a speakerphone and I hate the echo you get, hearing your own voice as you speak.
Anyway, I have an appointment on the 23rd at the walk in centre in town. Not sure what will happen and while she said sorry for such a late appointment, it does seem fast. But, strike when the iron is hot and all that.
And actually, I Googled some details, and it's a 26-week programme, with one to one meetings every six weeks with weekly drop-in group sessions to include cooking demonstrations, low impact exercise classes, nutrition advice and more.
Nothing terrifying, but still, yikes.

Date: 2024-01-02 05:15 pm (UTC)Ha there is ALWAYS at least one sneaky bit of sparkle. I think it's elves, personally.
I think the programme sounds interesting - the idea of demos and exercise classes is positive, and more holistic than these things usually are (but speakerphones need to get in a lavapit)

Date: 2024-01-03 07:59 am (UTC)Elves! I have to agree, it will be them. Normally it's a random window cling snowflake that gets left behind, so an actual garland is a step up!
Spearkerphones that echo are the worst! It does sound like an interesting programme and while I'm daunted, I'm also interested in the demos etc. I'm actually also impressed with how fast everything has been arranged, which makes me hope it's a well run and supported thing.

Date: 2024-01-02 06:11 pm (UTC)That programme sounds good but also kind of awful, I hope it goes well! Reminds me of my mom's yearly diabetic school that the hospital made her go to. She coulda taught the class XD Hope James continues to improve!!!

Date: 2024-01-03 07:54 am (UTC)I miss the twinkling lights, but a small house and a big tree meant it was time for them to come down so I could come through the door without crab walking again.
Good but awful fits. I like the idea of it, mostly, but I'm hoping that the description drop in means I can skip the elements that make me want to back away.

Date: 2024-01-02 08:42 pm (UTC)The annoying thing about Photobucket is that they sent a gagillion emails out, asking if you wanted your photos, but if you tried to go get them (at least for me), it wasn't allowing it without PAYING for the service. I would have had A LOT more respect for them if they allowed people access to their photos first, so they could grab them if they wanted to. And then, delete them out.
I'm not sure I ever had anything more there than the photos for a popslash SeSa story one year. I gather they've been removed. I had grabbed them from the story itself years ago and added them into the story on AO3. But yeah, I know a lot of people were using it as a place to store banners. Hopefully, people had backups of things they liked or wanted to keep.

Date: 2024-01-03 07:51 am (UTC)YES! That's exactly what was annoying about Photobucket. I used them a lot, for both personal things and fannish so had two accounts, then suddenly they went paid only. I tried to download the photos I had, but like you, I couldn't without paying for the privilege. If they had given a warning period, I would have thought much better of them.
Up until recently my hosted stuff was still being shown but with a watermark, now they're gone completely.
Sadly I had no backup as I saved the banner a few computers ago.

Date: 2024-01-03 12:20 pm (UTC)I'm sorry you lost your banner and other images. I'm always concerned LJ will suddenly disappear because ALL my artwork is posted over there. Artwork for my stories. Artwork I've made for other people's stories. Artwork for the NCIS Reverse Bang for the last ten years. Banners that I made or other people made for my communities. Just all sorts of things. I know I have some of it, but like you, many were from many computers ago, so I'm not sure I have them all elsewhere. *sigh*

Date: 2024-01-03 06:43 pm (UTC)I'm so glad to hear James got something to help with the itching. Hopefully the inflamed skin will now heal speedily and well *keeps fingers crossed*
An appointment this month sounds very fast to me! That programme sounds quite intensive and will hopefully give you just what you need to get back in shape. All the good luck!!

Date: 2024-01-04 08:03 am (UTC)James' skin is so much better now, still discoloured but fading every day.
Yeah, I thought an appointment this month was fast, too. They must try to get people before they weasel away *g*
Thank you for the good luck, I suspect I'll need it at some points.

Date: 2024-01-03 09:49 pm (UTC)Yay for James being less itchy
And oh, my flist is jumping and it's wonderful but now I'm trying to remember how to comment and stuff ARGH

Date: 2024-01-04 07:41 am (UTC)That's a very valid reason!
Yeah, my flist is jumping too, which is great but I'm out of practice at having multiple pages to read when I get up.
Also, you're doing just great at commenting.

Date: 2024-01-04 01:28 pm (UTC)Thank you - the main trick is not overthinking what I'm saying, just typing and hitting send, but the practice is certainly coming back!
