Jan. 22nd, 2024 04:31 pmWe went to see Poor Things at the cinema on Saturday, and I've never seen anything like it before. Sort of Steampunk horror, bizarre, gruesome at times, disturbing often, and more explicit sex than I've ever seen on the big screen. Three people walked out, and I can understand why, but all the characters were compelling, and I really wanted to see what happened to Bella. I liked it, but would say, check what you're going to see before watching, because it won't be for everyone.
Then it was home for some more cheesy Gladiator goodness, and yep, episode two was just as OTT, innuendo filled and fun as the first.
Since it started, I've been checking out footage from the Strictly live tour. Don't worry, I won't subject people to yet more Layton and Nikita, but they've been making me very happy, and I've been enjoying the videos and photos that are being released.
Otherwise, Storm Isha arrived, and my garden is looking sad. I braced the wonky fence as best I could and put heavy rocks in front of the gate to keep it shut, but I woke to my butterfly wall art off the wall and half the containers are off the flower shelf. But, there's not a thing I can do about it right now, and hopefully it'll be over -- well, I was going to say soon, but the warnings are in place until Wednesday, though thankfully, it's still windy, but not as windy, today.
When things calm down, I need to see what's going on with the flower shelf as the shelf itself is tipped a little. It's the last thing my dad did for me before he got ill, so I'd hate for it to collapse completely. He made it by putting a long scaffolding plank on top of five flower basket brackets, and those seem solid. So, I hope it's just the plank needs attaching a bit more securely at the back.
