It was Bodhi's first session at nursery today. As it was her first time, the website said parents could stay and meet the staff and make sure their child was okay. What actually happened was Kayleigh and Lucy had to leave her behind, so I've had many messages as they counted down to when they can pick her up.
Kevin was at the vets again this morning as he can't quite shake his upper respiratory infection. He's fine in himself and is quite happy, but is so full of snot and congestion, so he's on more powerful antibiotics which will hopefully clear it completely.
He's back there on Friday to get his second lot of jabs, so hopefully, there will be improvement by then.
The Royal Mail survey were playing with my head last week. I got an email saying my resting period was over, and I'd be back on the live panel soon. The next day, got an email to say my address had been revealed as a panellist to the postal service, so I was being let go, but they'd upped my reward points, so I could cash in a £25 voucher. I was confused how I'd been revealed considering I hadn't sent or received any mail for them in months, so emailed, and it seems the very first letter sent to me on the live panel, the envelope had split, and the tracking chip inside had been seen by the postal staff, which is just typical.
Then, a few more days after that, I got an envelope with stamps and a presentation pack of stamps, which is what you get at the start and end of your live stint. All I can think was, they were late being sent out because I shouldn't have got any after being dropped from the panel. That or they are actually playing with my head.
I watched the end of The Traitors, and it was excellent TV.
I also went to the cinema and saw The Holdovers, which was pretty good. Not rave worthy like some people are saying, but I enjoyed it.
I was Bodhi sitting yesterday, and she remains all kind of adorable, and exhausting!
There was also sad news last week
A family friend died last week. She'd been in remission from breast cancer twice, but it came back, along with some horrific side effects, and she passed away in hospital after collapsing at home.
I know her as she's the mam of Kayleigh's best friend, and the mam of my next door neighbour, so I've known her for a very long time, ever since Kayleigh met her bestie in junior school. While I'm sad that she's died, as I enjoyed talking to her, and she was a lovely woman, I mostly feel for her four daughters as they're such a tight family. I wouldn't wish those first few weeks after losing a loved one on my worst enemy, and my heart aches for them all so much. And for Kayleigh who has lost someone who she considered as a second mam.

Thank you ♥

That is so incredibly confusing, but good that you got the stamps and a reasonable payout when the envelope splitting was very definitely not your fault.
I was DELIGHTED by the Traitors, but was very definitely in need of the podcast show thing afterwards, it was a wee bit of a damp squib RIGHT at the end!
Fuck cancer, seriously. Horrible thing

Yeah, it was confusing. I don't blame them for letting me go from the panel, as it is all about secrecy, but it was such bad luck that the first letter coming my way was damaged. I usually cash in my points for Amazon vouchers as they're useful to have, but this time I got Costa. So, thank you MailAgents for my coffee!
Oh man, yes. The end was a downer and I was glad to watch the podcast show afterwards.
Yep, fuck it indeed. It takes too many good people too soon.

Date: 2024-01-31 09:00 pm (UTC)The Royal Mail survey thing is weird, and a pity, but at least you've had some compensation for it.
I hope Bodhi soon enjoys nursery! I expect she will. *mutters* Nursery, already. And Cory is a giant. */mutters*
I've had two fairly recent funerals to attend—one five months ago, one last week—of Beast's aunt and her husband. And both were well into their 90s, had had happy, satisfying lives and no regrets, and were loved. I guess that is something to aspire to. And anything that detracts from that by stealing the years is a shame and a sadness.

Date: 2024-02-05 04:31 pm (UTC)The Royal Mail survey really was weird. All I can think is an envelope got torn somehow, they went to put it into one of the clear bags, and saw the chip.
Bodhi was at nursery for her first actual day today, and Lucy has just posted a photo of her fast asleep on the living room floor. Guess nursery is a hard when you're two.
And anything that detracts from that by stealing the years is a shame and a sadness.
I agree. I think of nanna and while the very end wasn't that good, until that point she was happy and as healthy as a 97 year old could be, with people around who loved her. If only we could all have that.

How irritating, but yes, very typical that your envelope broke like that.
I'm so sad to hear about your family friend. Cancer is so horrible!!

Date: 2024-02-03 03:43 pm (UTC)Kevin is doing great, he still gets a bit of congestion but nowhere near as much. And as he's such a little gannet, getting the tablets into him is easy with the use of a treat.
The first letter back and the envelope breaks, you can hardly believe it. I totally understand I can't stay on the panel now my address has been revealed, but it is a pain.
Cancer is terrible, and takes too many good people.

Date: 2024-02-05 07:57 am (UTC)You're welcome! I enjoyed my time on the mail survey and it's a shame it ended like it did, though I totally understand why I couldn't stay on once my address was known. It was an easy way to get stamps and points and a good excuse to go out for a wander.
