I didn't have pancakes yesterday, but did today. Wish I hadn't bothered really as they weren't the best and I've used all my blueberries on them now.
Going back to the things I love meme, and this is a long one. Really, an excuse to post lots of pretty pictures and videos.
In which I post many pictures and video of Nikita, Layton and other assorted Strictly people.
Nikita first joined Strictly in 2021 and caught my attention immediately.
He was partnered with Tilly Ramsay that year, and become known for throwing off his shirt in their elimination dance, forgetting about his mic wire that meant his shirt remained attached and wafted behind him like a friendly ghost throughout the rest of the dance.
The next year, he was partnered with Ellie Simmonds, and did some fantastic choreography that took their height difference into account beautifully.
Then, last year, he was partnered with Layton Williams, and I fell in love with them both over and over again.
Layton got so much negativity in the press and social media for being a ringer, but also because he has a unique, flamboyant style of his own, and stated he wanted to wear dresses. And actually did so, but mostly dressed in a way that was just him
Within weeks, he and Nikita had a tight friendship and seemed to be having a blast, despite the hate coming Layton's way from certain areas of the internet.
Most ringers end up in the dance off multiple times, only surviving due to the judges votes, but Layton only ended up in the dance off once, and while he didn't win the overall show, he stated himself he never expected to, and was just thrilled to get to the end.
The Strictly tour started a couple of weeks ago, and ended on Sunday. And Layton and Nikita won so many of the individual shows, so much so that they got the overall tour glitterball trophy for winning the most times.
I won't embed their dances from Strictly, as I've shown most of them previously. But below are the two individual dances Layton and Nikita did in the tour.
Winning the tour glitterball and being surprised at doing so. Which I can't apparently embed, but you can see on TikTok here
Some photos I like, including Nikita as Ken and Layton as a Barbie from the group dance. Also, a bonus Nikita and Vito away from the rooftop.
I feel at this point Layton won't mind if we revisit Nikita's dance with Carlos. *____*
And in a total change of pace, and nothing to do with the above apart from I think it's adorable, Carlos, who is another excellent pro dancer, did the CBeebies bedtime story this last week <3
Like I said I loved watching Strictly this last season, and that was all because of Nikita and Layton's friendship.
And a rooftop.
And I really need a Layton/Nikita icon.
